Do you love your wedding band/set?

I've been obsessing over my set more recently than ever, so it just made me curious if anyone else is in love with theirs.. or not so much?!  I absolutely love my ering, and now with the band - I do consider it an obsession to look at it.  It's been a little over 3 months now and I still stick my hand out in awe.  I hold my hand up in my rearview mirror to catch a glimpse at my hand.. telling you, obession.

I've heard before where people don't really end up liking theirs, or they are "functioning" as well as they thought (sits too high and catches things, etc) or that they see something they love even more after they have theirs.

So I'm curious, how do you all feel after 3ish months of having the full set? Love, hate, somewhere in the middle?

Anyone care to PIP their set?

  • You know this heifer right here will pip some pics. :-)

I SUPER DUPER love my ering and my wedding band.  They are not a set, but I am SO glad I got the amethyst wedding band.  If I had listened to all of the jewelers who tried to talk me out of it, I would not be as happy with it, I just know it.

  • I love love love mine!  Well, actually not quite. I don't like is the sizing.  I was told that my e-ring would fit better once I got my wedding band, but it doesn't.  However, because I have big knuckles, my jeweler has advised against me resizing the rings...but one problem I have is that my wedding band has diamonds only half way around (I opted for this instead of the full around b/c it saved Ben $300, but now I kind of honestly regret it) and b/c it spins, half of the time its turned around and looks like I have a plain band.

I'm getting to the point where I either want to resize the rings or actually solder them (even though I was against it for me).

I can't PIP here, but I will tonight so I can take a pic.

I think I have mentioned it before, but my e-ring centerstone (round) is a family heirloom.  We're the third couple from DH's family to have it and it was passed into his family by a family who had married into the Deere family, as in John Deere (green and yellow farm equipment).  We're from the hometown of JD.  I love the history behind it!

  • Here are some pics of mine, all non-pro since my pro aren't available to me right now.. My band also has diamonds halfway around.  I was too afraid of damaging the bottoms stones, so I chose against the full band.

ETA: My rings were not a set.  They were both part of the same collection, so it made sense that they "matched".  I've always wanted matching bands.  Mike and I have matching bands.  Yes, my husband has a 1ct diamond band, too! lol He actually chose his first, and then I fell in love with the way it looked with my ering!

My e-ring is a bit too large as well, but rather than resizing it, our jeweler added those little gold ball inserts on the inside. It keeps it from spinning around, and I'm still able to slide it on and off easily. After about 10 minutes, I didn't even notice they were there. That may work for you.

  • I love my set! But we picked it out together... because I hate surprises!

I get sooo many compliments on it too! The only ones that bother me are the back-handed compliment/insults. You know... the jealous kind. Just because I work for big-box retailer doesn't mean I can't have nice things, b!tch!

No PIP... but how about a link?

  • I love mine and was just thinking about this the other day. I catch myself staring at it and I am so thankful that I went with the wedding wrap that Nick picked out. I tried it on and he just sort of went, "wow" and that was that. I love how it makes it look more vintage and it complements the style of the e-ring. imageimage

  • I love mine! It wasn't a set but I purposely went with the eternity band because it would match better with my e-ring.

  • I LOVE mine!  I had such a hard time finding a band to go with my e-ring, because nothing would sit flush against it, I finally decided it didn't matter and I found a perfect band.  I was in love with my e-ring when I got it and now that the wedding ring sits next to it, it looks even better. I still catch myself staring at it.

  • I Love Love Love my set. Mike picked out my e-ring alone and then we went and looked at bands for it and him together, they had to send mine out to be made because its so small (and it still spins around Grr) but yes i still can't help but hold my hand out and oooh and awww at it lol

  • Oh your rings are all so pretty!

I love love LOVE mine, I'm at work so I don't have pictures, but they were DH's grandmothers. So they are a matching set. Thankfully they're also white gold, and they didn't need to be re-sized.

  • I love seeing all these!  They're so beautiful.  I also like hearing the stories behind them, it must be such a nice feeling to share that history withthe families.
  • I like the set I have now well enough.  The wedding band is pretty simple, and I figure I'll upgrade on some anniversary.  I got this band after the wedding, because I couldn't find anything beforehand.  Here's the band I used in the ceremony, stacked with my AMAZING e-ring (I'm obsessed with it), and Ross's ring.

    image

And here's the band I got after the wedding, simple, but pretty, and the curve fits pretty well.

    imageimage

I need to get them soldered, the e-ring is a little too big now, and it slides around.

  • Jena - Your second band looks very similar to the one I originally picked!  I was so anal about the curve going around my 6-prong solitaire that I swore I needed the curve.  Once I saw it with the straight band though, I realized I was putting way too much thought into it.

I love your ering though, beautiful!

  • I love mine!! Mine was a set but we didn't buy them together, we were still debating getting a different one than the one it was paired with. So glad we went with the one that matched my e ring, I love it!

Mine is in my siggy picture but here is another picture:

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE mine! I will also find myself just staring at it. When I'm driving and the sun hits it, I love seeing all the spots in the car. It's blinding, really ;)

    image

The picture doesn't do it justice (does it ever, though?)

DH picked out the ring (knowing what I like, but it was 100% him). It was a b*itch and a half to find a band for it, though. The issue was that it curves in under the main stone, and I wanted to find a band that would curve up so the gap isn't as big. We went to countless stores, and finally when we were about to get one somewhere else (that I didn't like as much, but time was running out), we went to one last store and found this one!

It was twice as much, but we figured I'm going to be wearing it for the rest of my life, so I should be happy with it!

  • Jena, your ering is gorgeous!  I wanted a blue sapphire ering but Jason was pretty set on it being a diamond.

They didn't come as a set.  Jason knew I liked princess cut stones and he preferred the look of a solitaire so that was pretty easy for him to pick out lol.  Then when we were at the beach last spring, we were browsing around in a jewelry store because they were having an amazing sale and I found a band I loved.  It is little princess cut and baguette cut diamonds which I think goes nicely with my ering.  I really love them both and still 'ohh and ahh' over them pretty often.

This is both of my rings and Jason's band.

Krista, I have almost the exact same set,and my husband's ring looks really similar to your husband's.  Eerie!

I love my rings, though.  I still get random compliments on my e-ring, and it makes me smile. And I totally catch myself staring at my rings every now and then.

  • LOVE.

We had the wedding band custom made to fit flush with my e-ring. They look like they're supposed to be a set. They look great together!

  • I look at my set all the time. I love it!! Sometimes I'll even take my band off and look at the inside of it and read the inscription. My ering is perfect in every way - DH picked it out after we went to try a few things to see if I wanted round cut or princess cut (princess cut looked AWFUL on my finger for some reason). But the band means so much more to me.

Here's a crappy cell phone picture, they sit pretty flush next to each other but in this picture they weren't for some reason.

  • Here's ours. Zach had the engagement ring custom made with sapphires on each side, and I wanted a band to match, so we had that custom done, too. It's got a lone sapphire in the tip, and his ring has a sapphire on each corner of the top and bottom of the ring. I LOVE my set and find myself staring at it a lot - still get several compliments on it. I had it soldered after the honeymoon to keep it from spinning.

  • I love our set.  Hubby and I both ordered rose gold rings with a hammered finish.  We had to have ours custom made to fit my vintage e-ring.  We love them!

  • So many different rings..!!  I seriously enjoy seeing all the photos and hearing the stories.
  • Mine are in my siggy. I had the hardest time trying to find a band to go with my e-ring. I am used to it now, but I'm still not sure it's the best fit. The milgrain matches, but they are different profiles.

My e-ring sits higher on my hand. You can kind of see the height of it here:

    image

I llove my e-ring and I like my band a lot, too; I'm just not entirely in love with them together, but I still look at my hand all the time, too!

  • I love mine too!  DH gave me the sapphire when he proposed and then we picked out a custom setting together.  I wish we would have gotten DH a tungsten ring instead of white gold, as his is getting really scratched up and looks terrible.
