stand up to be tall, sit down to be small
So I've been thinking lately about a vanity... our bathroom is small and I feel like I want more room to spread out make-up and other personal care items. And I realized that I have never really set down to apply make-up. I always do so standing up... usually over the sink. Even when I use the full length mirror, I never sit down.
So... do you sit down or stand up?

Unless I'm going out for a nice dinner or something, it only takes me 3 minutes to do my make up...so it's not too much of an issue.
I've always sat down to do my makeup. Prior to moving in together, I sat at my computer desk and did my makeup, and since we've lived together, I sit on our bed and do it. I just use a handheld mirror and turn on all the lights around me or open the curtains/blinds if it's a sunny day. I feel like when I stand to do it, I always rush. When I sit down to do it, I take my time and by using a handheld mirror, I can really pay close attention to detail. My older brother is makeup artist in NYC and has really taught me a lot about applying it correctly and how to get different looks, plus I have a giant makeup kit thanks to him, so I find it fun to take my time.
Embarrassing fact: Often when I'm doing my makeup (and have extra time) I like to put on girly DVD's I have like Newlyweds, The Hills, or Girls Next Door because I feel like they are always getting pretty on those shows, so I like to do it while I watch them lol. Oh man I'm lame.
I'm going to be flamed. I sit. But that's because I put my makeup on in the car. I know, I know! But I got into the habit years ago and now I can't seem to get myself up early enough to break the habit. On the good side, I've gotten really good at putting my makeup on without looking. I can do all of it except for my eyeliner and mascara, and do that either at a stop light or once I get to wear I'm going.
On the rare occasion that I do my makeup at home then I stand.
