Bachelor Recap

The Bachelor is only one of my favorite guilty pleasures EVER!  So I thought I would subject you to my show recap, along with commentary.

Ashley gets the first date.  I don?t like Ashley.  I think she acts super fake.  Their date was to a carnival and they both thought it was the ?best date ever!?  Ashley shared about her absent father, who is a homeless addict.  Brad revealed to her that her dad was also absent, and that he was amazed at how similar they were.  Of course this twisted back around into how Brad?s absent dad is what made him put up walls and hurt other people before they could hurt him.  I?m over his sob story.

15 girls on the group date, the biggest group date in Bachelor history.  Except it wasn?t a date as much as a volunteer activity.  They filmed PSA?s for the Red Cross.  It was really cheesy.  They should leave it to the real actors.

It?s Michelle?s birthday and she is mad that she has to share a date on her birthday.  Speaking of Michelle, she looks completely different in makeup vs. au naturel.  She?s beautiful either way, but what?s with the drawn on eyebrows?  During the date she walked off the set in tears.  Boo hoo.  She got the date rose.  Of course.  Why wouldn?t she get a rose on her birthday.

Melissa is desperate and weird.  And her skin is horrible.  She broke into a scene, walked right onto the stage, and kissed Brad. She acts psycho.  She also got into a fight with Raichel, the manscaper, and Melissa said that Rachel was childish.  I didn?t like Raichel before, but I think that her facial expressions are cute.  And she fought with Melissa, so I like her better now.

Madison, a.k.a. ?Vampire chick,? in the dominatrix outfit.  Fitting.

Britt played a party girl.  She?s a self-proclaimed ?goody two shoes? but decided that she was going to pretend like someone else and during the shoot she full on made out with him.  Everyone else acted super shocked and grossed out.

Jackie got the second one-on-one date.  When talking about the date Brad said, ?This date is Jackie?s own ?Pretty Woman? experience.?  Really, Brad?  Jackie?s a prostitute?  He makes her get into a robe, and lead her blindfolded into a room filled with dresses, where she got to pick the one that she wants to wear on the date.  He took her to the Hollywood Bowl where they had dinner and saw Train perform.  I HATE that ?Here is Love? song.  How did that song ever become a hit?  Brad is worried that she is too cautious about love, but he still gave her the rose. She?s very smiley and positive.  What can I say, I like her.

At the rose ceremony night Raichel and Melissa continued their spat, and both ended up in tears.  Then Allie and Roberto showed up to help Brad identify who was there for the right reasons and who was not.  Brad would give a rose based on what they have to say.  He gave it to Emily.  One of my favorites.  Yay!

In the end, 3 go home.  Keltie, the Radio City dancer who has now given up on love, along with the two drama queens, Melissa and Raichel.  He made the right choices.

Coming up next week: They are filming an action-adventure movie.  Why do they have to keep torturing us with the horrible acting?  It looks like Ashley gets another one-on-one date, and Emily gets one too.

Did anyone else watch?  What did you think of the night?

Re: Bachelor Recap

  • Hahaha Erin you crack me up. I haven't watched tonight's episode yet. I've been watching the football game/ football game related stuff since like 4 this afternoon, haha. I couldn't resist your recap though. I'm excited to watch "The Bachelor" after work tomorrow.

And I can tell you without even watching tonight's that I'm sick of Brad's sob story too. I was over it halfway through last week's episode. I hope he puts on his big girl underpants soon & quits crying.

  • Fortunately after the first date there wasn't too much talk about it.  I hope that he's done with it.  Can't wait to hear what you think of the episode!

  • Ooh Erin! I appreciate this!  I watched the first half and then had made a deal w/DH to switch to the BCS Bowl Game.

(Side note: for some unfortunate reason our second tv, in the bedroom, is randomly not turning on anymore and our cable box is going crazy lighting up. Eeek).

Brad's 1st season is actually the only season I watched religiously, so I'm pumped that he's back.

I like Ashley, well think she's okay, but I like the other Ashley (the NY nanny) better.  I agree on the Michelle thing, she really loads on the makeup, but either way I think is gorgeous, is it weird for me to say she's a MILF?  Speaking of, from the first episode I really like the blonde Emily from NC, but didn't see much of her on the show.

I'm glad those 3 girls got sent home.  I was annoyed how Melissa kept saying she quit her job and essentially spend all of her money for new clothes for the show. Keltie I just wasn't a fan of and Rachel was a bit bold for my liking.

    Thanks for posting this!
