I know it's not the same, but it brought the memory back and I thought I'd share it because really do you have anything better to do than read my story? I didn't think so.
My son's father cheated on me with an 18 year old HS senior, not shocking since we were only 20 when this happened, but relative to the story. Anyway I left and a few weeks later we were talking and he told me he was sorry and wanted me to come back, he loved me blah blah blah. I said ok because I was dumb, naive and had an 11 month old. Then he tells me there's just one thing, he's going to go to her prom with her (about a month away) because she already bought a dress and it wouldn't be fair to her to back out now.
<------ I wish I could make that bigger. That's when I knew it was really over and I wanted nothing to do with him ever again.
Re: Fenton's post reminded me of this
I bet her FUPA's name is Shane, like the gunslinger/drifter of literature.--HappyTummy
Yeah, and maybe tickets. The whole thing probably cost her tens of dollars.
You're so heartless, mashed.
The nerve!

I will laugh with you Sam.
Wow - he was one classy guy. How could you let him get away, Mashed?
As if the story itself weren't funny enough, you two have to make me guffaw loudly at my desk with your commentary!
I love that he thought this was a reasonable request. Thank goodness you were smart enough to take that as your cue to leave. I honestly don't know if I would have done the same at 20. I was smart about a lot of things but soooooooooo stupid when it came to my relationships.
