I'm not sure if I ever mentioned it, but we started finishing our basement. I have a large extended family (both my parents come from families with 4 children) so holidays are kinda crowded. Our 1st floor isn't huge so we're finishing the half of the basement that isn't a garage into a 2nd living/family room. It will be a great man cave for the guys on holidays, and it will be a great playroom/movie room when the time comes. ![]()
We're not too far along, with all the holidays and stuff. Mark has done all the work so far except for the new double window we had put in yesterday (because we didn't have enough outdoor ventilation per code). Here are some pictures.

Thanks, Jo! This fall we got some mums, a pumpkin, and corn stalk for the front door and it looked so cute.
Becky, if you have any questions let me know! DH is tackling a lot of this on his own but we have to contract out the window, the plumbing, and the electric. DH actually knows how to do the electric but it is town code that a licensed electrician pull the permit and licensed electricians can't approve a non-licensed person's work (or something like that). So that part is a bummer. But we plan to do all the framing, drywall, etc ourselves (himself).
Very nice! It's looks good so far! We just wrapped up all the loose ends with ours - we did it all ourselves too, but we did not have to tackle electric, plumbing, or windows. You will love all the extra space and once you are done it will feel like it was always there!
Jules, definitely post some pictures of your new space.
I can't wait to see the finished product!
