manuals

I'm cleaning out our office file drawer to create more space.  So far I've been successful except I found a whole bunch of manuals for every appliance we own, TV, etc.  How would you store these if not in a file cabinet?  3 ring binder? box? Help!

Re: manuals

  • We cleaned out our filing cabinet of manuals. DH went online to find the PDFs of the manuals we had, and saved them to our external hard drive. We tossed out manuals and now only have an electronic copy. If we ever are going to sell the house with certain appliances, we'll just print the manuals from the PDF.

With owning a home, the appliance manuals add up quickly. They take up a ton of space and keeping them digital saves us a ton of filing space.

  • I threw out all of mine.  I can probably find anything I want out online or by contacting the manufacturer.
  • I was storing them in our filing cabinet but they were taking up a lot of space and resorted to putting them in a binder.  It's so much easier to go through them and I have them organized in categories (appliances, electronics, etc.).
  • I second the 3-ring binder and clear sleeves. I also put them in A-Z order. I love it this way!

I think this is a really good suggestion!  Now I just need to see if I can find mine online so I can do that.
