So, DH fell on Saturday when he was skiing, but said he was fine. He was a little uncomfortable that night. Sunday, skied again for 4 hours, and still felt okay, but Sunday night was still uncomfortable, when he breathed deeply, coughed or laughed.
Monday was apparently worse during the day, and last night he was really uncomfortable and in a lot of pain. I *FINALLY* convinced him this morning at 4:45 to go to the Emergency room...
What started in our imagination on Saturday as "bruised rib" or "pulled muscle" has now actually turned into "we need to look at your spleen..."
So, xrays, cat scans, blood tests, ultrasound, etc. is our morning ahead. Fortunately, not a long wait to get into a bay at the ER, and everyone is friendly and nice and keeping us updated. But it is till a long morning ahead.
Awesome.
Re: At the ER with DH
Oh no! I hope he's ok. Although at least the spleen isn't something you really need I know they told me if I ever relapse with my platelet issues, they were going to look at removing mine.
Sending lots of good thoughts!

Oh my gosh!!! I hope everything is okay.
In highscool, I fell & got kicked. I thought I just had a bruised rib or possibly a cracked rib. I let it go for a few weeks but then I couldn't breathe, sit, lay, or anything. I went to the doctor and she thought I had a collapsed lung. So I went for an xray, nothing showed. So after 3 shorts of demerol and nothing took the edge off of the pain they sent me for a CT Scan. I had ruptured my spleen. I stayed overnight in the hospital and my spleen had healed itself by the time I went to the doctor.
It maybe his spleen or just a few cracked ribs. Good luck!

Thanks so much, everyone!
We have a good news/bad news scenario. We just got home from the hospital.
Good news: Spleen is not bleeding, only bruised.
Bad news: He has walking pneumonia! That's actually probably a big part of his pain right now!
They gave him antibiotics and percoset, and we're hopeful he'll be feeling better in a few days. He just feels like he got hit by a truck on his left side, and can't believe the pain!
Thanks for all your thoughts!
