Did you guys know about this program at Hannafords? I hadn't heard it mentioned here before but my friends were telling me about it over NYE and I love the concept. I wish we had it at our Hannafords in MA. We'll be taking advantage of it for sure this summer... everyone avoids taking the bottles in to the redemption center. http://clynk.com/
Re: Clynk Bottle Returns
We do the same thing. It is like a secret grocery savings.
I've been using the Clynk bags for maybe two or three years? It's been a while. Sanford was one of the first areas that got the Clynk bags at Hannaford. I love it!
The only thing I have to watch out for is making sure I don't mix in my NH non-returnable cans so that I don't waste bag space on cans that aren't worth money (I crush them and put them out for the recycling).
We LOVE Clynk! They now have online account access so you can check your balance remotely- which a web geek like me loves.
We totally save up the entire year and then cash in to help defer costs for the annual Halloween party. The past couple of years have been lower totals since I was pregnant or nursing for a lot of the years, so we had less booze intake, but now that we're back to drinking plenty of wine and beer, we'll rake in a higher amount. Goooooooo drinking!
I just signed up. I don't know why I have been resisting. Probably cause I never go to Hannaford, we shop at Shaws cause there is no Hannaford in Portsmouth and Hannaford is a little more.
This was fine when I was a SAHM, but now I have no time to take our recyclables and our garage is OVERLOADED. Looking forward to getting my bags and card so I can go drop off the load of bottles we have in our garage right now.
I do like the idea of saving it up and either cashing it in for something good or groceries.
Thanks for posting this, it got me to cave
lol!!
