Because I'm NOTD and can AW to my heart's content....
Brody had a great first birthday party! It was held at MIL's house on New Years Day. It was a small, family even with all of Brody's grandparents there, as well as his aunt and uncle. There wasn't really a theme -- just bright, bold colors for the decorations, a "Rocket" cake (from Little Einsteins) that Keith swears up and down he made (I think he's being a big fat liar on this one), a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cupcake tower that I made, and his very own smash cake made from my favorite local bakery. Brody loved being the center of attention, and LOVED eating his cake. We all started laughing when he smashed into it, which made him cry because I think we scared him. Once I showed him that the frosting was yummy, he was all aboout it! 20 minutes later he was in the living room "running" from person to person, all while squealing in delight. I think it was safe to say he was on a sugar high! He received some wonderful gifts, including a new flannel quilt from his granny (my mom) and a family zoo membership from his great-grandparents (my grandparents who couldn't make it)
I will say that next year I'll be doing my own birthday party for Brody. Keith was so fake, acting like "dad of the year" and it just irritated me. And then his mom was acting like there was nothing wrong too, and that was annoying as well. I get that we didn't need to get into a dicussion about it, or anything, but don't be fake to my face. Of course I didn't say anything and put a smile on my face because it was all about Brody, but I won't be doing a joint party again. Maybe later, when he's older, but no time in the near future.
Overall, it was a good party. Brody was spoiled rotten, he had a great time and LOVED being the center of attention. My baby boy is 1 year old!
All cleaned up, a clothes change and laughing off a sugar high!
My handsome, silly baby boy is 1 year old!
Re: AWing: Brody's 1st birthday! (PIP heavy)
The pictures came out so good! Love the cake shots. Classic!
Ok, now that was funny, I won't lie.
Well we can always dream right? Seriously that cake is pretty intense, the frosting job is way too good for a guy, unless he's a baker or something.
What great pictures Amanda! He is seriously so adorable! Such a handsom little man!
I agree - no way Keith made that cake. Though the cupcakes are way cute! And I love the smash cake pictures!!!!
