DH and I decided we need a weekend get-a-way this Spring and we decided on Seattle. DH has never been and I've only been once, a few years ago.
I'd love to hear all your recommendations...hotels, attractions, restaurants, etc.
TIA
Re: Seattle Recs
Kind of cliche but I love walking around Pike Place Market. All the flowers and fresh fish make me happy. There's also a donut stand there with the best, fresh donuts ever. Buy many. Eat them hot.
My parents, who live on the East Side, always take us to dinner at Seastar (seafood place) in Bellevue. It's one of the best seafood places I've been to. I think they have a Seattle location too so maybe try that.
My husband steady at this Hotel & loved that he could walk to the space needle & pikes when he was not in meetings.
the hotel gives you a free cookie!
I remember the Underground Tour being offbeat and kind of fun. Pike is definitely a must, and go to Beecher's (across the street) for lunch to try their world-famous mac & cheese. If you leave Seattle without doing this, you will kick yourself later.
I like to remind people that the Space Needle is an icon, sure; but it's an elevator up, a view of the city (on a clear day) and an elevator down. In other words, kind of boring. There's a revolving restaurant up there that would be more of an event ... reserve a table by the window, and you'll get a 360-degree view of the city.
Jazz Alley is my favorite club. Small, totally hip atmosphere, and some great jazz acts play there.
Check out Seattle City Pass. My DH and DSS got one when we moved here a month ago. For $60, you get tickets to six popular tourist destinations (including the Space Needle), and they're good for 9 days. I think it's for the aquarium, the zoo, the needle, the pacific science center, the experience music project, an argosy cruise of the harbor ... I think you can add a tour of the Boeing Museum of Flight, too.
Thank you for all the great recs...I am definitely going to check them all out.
We definitely are going to do the Needle, Pike's Market and I absolutely loved the EMP last time I was there. The Underground Tour sound extremely interesting and we are all about eating our way through the city.
Thanks again!

And if you somehow end up in Edmonds, I love the grilled romaine, shrimp salad at Anthony's Beach Cafe (I insist we go there everytime we go to Seattle):

You should also take the ferry somewhere. There are docks downtown and up in Edmonds. The ride is just beautiful. From downtown, you can head to Bainbridge Island, which has a cute little downtown that's walking distance. Or you can take your car on the ferry and drive around the other side.

We don't usually stay in a hotel when we visit (we have family) but we have twice. Once we stayed at the Edgewater Hotel, which I really liked. Great views, great bathrooms. Very Pacific NW feeling. Another time we stayed at the Fairmont. It was nice enough, but not really worth the price tag.
This is where my sister's bridal shower will be! I can't wait ... she raves about it!
