Rush hour question

Hi all!

I moved back to the area this past summer.  I am going to start working in a couple weeks.  I will be driving from Edina(right by southdale) to West St Paul.  Anyone know what rush hour is like on that route?

Thanks! :)

Joleen

ps...hope to check this board out lots more and put in my two cents when it applies

  • I can't help you with your question but I did want to welcome you back to MN .

  • Um, it's pretty bad.  I'd find a way to avoid the 494 strip at all costs.  The crosstown should be okay now that the construction project is finished.
  • I take 494 west through Edina around 6:45am & it's just beginning to get backed up in both directions. The earlier the better. 7am or later is a nightmare.
  • Welcome back!

And take 62E.  You won't be on it very long until it totally clears out, at 35W.  It will be bad before that, but after that it should clear out.  What you take from the Crosstown sort of depend on where you are headed.

I would definitely go this route. I used to take this roughly anywhere between 7-8am and once the construction project ended the drive was much better.
