gah! I'm so anxious.

My BFF was induced this morning!! I'm super excited!

I'm dying over here waiting for an update. She has had people coming out of the wood work wanting to be friends now, and wanting to go to the hospital to see her after the baby is born.  So I'm trying super hard to just lay low and wait for her Granny to call me. I think it's stupid for all these "friends" to want to go up there tonight, nothing even says she will have the baby today. Geesh.

Listening to her vent over the last week about all the people makes me wonder how I will handle this.

I know a lot of you ladies have had similar experiences with family wanting to come and stay with you.

So stressful!

  • How exciting!  Do you know what she's having?

When you do hear from her, just tell her that you don't want to invade her space & are sooo excited to meet the LO so when she's ready for visitors, to let you know.

    She is having a girl.

We have had several talks about when I can/will go up there. I can't just stop by, the hospital is 1hr 45min away. She has been venting for about a week about all the people that want to rush up there, and I've told her several times to just let me know when she wants me to come up there, and if she prefers family only then I can come to her house whenever.

Last night when I talked to her she said she was going to make a visitors list, lol. She said, "Family and Jena, that's all that can come."

  • How exciting!  I agree with Jen, tell her you're excited to see her, but for her to let her know when she's ready for visitors.  My top new mommy tip, my friends and SIL get some type of freezer meal from me when I come to visit.  Everyone brings cute outfits, few people think about the fact the new parents are tired and need to eat.  More than one new mommy has cried (in a good way) when I've brought over something that goes easily from freezer to oven.

  • When I had Macy like 15 people came up to see me.  I felt bad because I wasn't able to see any of them!!  Basically, they drove all the way up to Corpus (which is an hour away), waited for 3 hours or so and only got to see the baby through the nursery window.

By the time I got my shiit together and was ready to see company it was midnight (had the baby at 4 PM) and everyone left hours ago.  Whoops.  Dude, I was an effing mess after I had the baby.  I had to

    1.  Get out of surgery recovery, they had trouble regulating my body temp

    2.  Stop puking.  I think I puked for an hour straight

    3.  Let the drugs wear off where I understood that it wasn't polite to take my gown off in front of company because I was hot.

    4.  Breast feed the baby for the first time with the lactation consultant.  I had no effing clue what I was doing.

So, yeah, I would wait until you get the call that its ok to see the baby!!  Good luck to your friend!  Having a baby is the greatest thing ever!

She said people have been blowing up her phone all day. rude.

  • How exciting!

I know when I had DD I did not care who was at the hospital, I just did not want anyone in the room. Well, right when it was time to push my sister asked if she could stay. I did not have any meds and at that point I did not care who was there I just wanted the baby out. So my sister stayed.

After I was not to happy about it, since I told everyone what I wanted. But oh well, the world did not end.

After I had her I did not care who came to see her at the hospital or home. But no one actually stayed with us, the came to visit and left.

I didn't answer anyone when I was in the hospital.  Or if I did, I sent out a mass text message to anyone who I thought might be interested.

When I went to visit my friend who had her baby this past November both her and her H were texting every single person who texted them.  Like, they were having full blown texting conversations with people.  And she was even calling people back......while she was in labor!  Nuts.

  • Congrats to her!

I haven't been through it yet, but I would think that I won't want anyone there right after.  I feel like I will need some time to recover.  Like when I had my appendix out, visitors before were nice, to keep my mind off of the surgery.  And I totally appreciated everyone that came, or offered to come, but after I just wanted to sleep and relax without being bothered.

  • A little update: She had her at a little after 7 this morning! She is 5lb 12oz - a tiny little thing. Today is actually my BFFs due date. I can't believe she is so tiny.. but my bff is just a little thing herself so I guess that makes sense.

    YAY! So excited!
