Salsa Verde Chicken questions...
DH did the grocery shopping... he said he couldn't find Ortega Salsa Verde; only the Pace brand. Is that the realllly spicy one that a few people mentioned?
Is it okay if I omit the scallions & cilantro in the dumplings? Or, any substitutions you can think of for them?
Rather than using a Rotissiere chicken, I was planning to just use some chicken breast tenders. That's okay, right? What's the best/quickest way to cook 'em up?
THANKS! I am looking forward to trying it.
Re: Salsa Verde Chicken questions...
I think I used Ortega. Does the jar say what level of spiciness it is?
I think if you omit the scallions and cilantro they will be kinda bland. Do you like chives? Parsley?
I didn't use a rotisserie chicken. I bought leg quarters (they were .59/lb., couldn't pass them up) and I poached them. I often poach chicken when I need it cooked quickly. The meat always comes out very moist. MOIST MOIST MOIST!
Hmm. I'll have to look at the jar again. It mentioned jalapenos, and that scared me!
I do like chives (and scallions & cilantro) however I forgot to add them to the market list.
And no plans to hit the market tomorrow w/the snow! I'll figure something out. Parsley may work, or maybe my Italian seasonings...
Moist meat works for me!
On an unrelated note, I LOVE YOUR PRINCESS CLIPPIES! My niece loves Tink so I will likely be ordering a set of those, and some other items as well. They are so freakin cute!
Stick with the parsley. I think the Italian seasonings may change the taste too much.
If you see jalapenos, I think it's the spicy kind. Maybe put half the amount called for in.
MOIST!
Thanks Kris! I just posted Pocahontas, Mulan and Jasmine!! Sleeping Beauty and Snow White to come. I think Tink's my fave so far. She's so damn cute!!
