I was 27 when we started TTC. That was a little older then I thought but I wasn't upset about it. But now unless we luck out and get pregnant in the next few months I'll be 30 before I have my first child which was a little older then what I wanted.
I was/am 29 when we started TTC. The age I "always" thought has changed a lot as I've gotten older. When I was 17, I thought I'd have kids by 24. When I was 24, I thought that was insane. Now that I'm 29, I can't imagine having kids anytime before 30. So I suppose I'm older than I thought I'd be when I was 17-24, but I'm completely content and satisfied with the age I am TTC at now.
26. Waaaay earlier than I always thought I would be, but the fates aligned. Now I'm glad we're starting early, for several reasons.
TTC: How old were you when you started TTC? Is that the age you?d always thought you?d be when you had kids, or are you older or younger? I am/was 28 when we started, and I am 28 now. Not really, I thought that if I was going to have kids I would be around 27/28.
1st trimester: Have you had genetic counseling? What did it entail? No, we didn't.2nd trimester: In what week did you schedule your lvl 2 (anatomy scan) u/s? Has DH or any other family members come for your ultrasounds? The doctor scheduled it for me for the end of week 19. DH has come to all my USs so far, but we already know gender through an elective US that we did as a Christmas present, so he may not come this Friday. He has a crazy work schedule right now and it has been stressful for him to get the time off.TTC: How old were you when you started TTC? Is that the age you?d always thought you?d be when you had kids, or are you older or younger? I thought I'd be somewhere between 25-30, but definitely starting before age 30. Guess I'm just barely making it (I'll be 30 on May 3rd)!
1st trimester: Have you had genetic counseling? What did it entail? We chose not to.
2nd trimester: In what week did you schedule your lvl 2 (anatomy scan) u/s? Has DH or any other family members come for your ultrasounds? Anatomy scan was at 19 weeks(ish). The Husband came to that one and all the previous ultrasounds. No other family members have, but if my mom lived nearby, I'd take her.
3rd trimester: Are you ready?
NO!
Updates: We're now getting the nursery ready... just as predicted, the holidays flew by without any baby prep, and now I'm feeling uncomfortably close to my due date with a lot on my list! I've actually decided to take 4 weeks off before my due date (instead of the originally-planned 2 weeks), at the advice of my doctor and co-workers. My mom is the work-up-to-your-due-date-because-pregnant-women-are-not-disabled type, so she's the only one who thinks this is silly. Whatever. I have closets to organize.
I also got the feeling from my doctor that she thinks this baby is going to come early. She is far from conservative, but she was REALLY encouraging me to take off of work earlier than planned.

TTC: How old were you when you started TTC? 27
Is that the age you?d always thought you?d be when you had kids, or are you older or younger? It is a little younger than I envisioned, but we decided to start in case we experienced trouble getting pregnant.
1st trimester: Have you had genetic counseling? What did it entail? I think the NT scan is under this category. We wanted to be prepared in case the baby was shown to have a chromosomal abnormality.
2nd trimester: In what week did you schedule your lvl 2 (anatomy scan) u/s? Has DH or any other family members come for your ultrasounds? My anatomy scan was scheduled during week 19. DH has come to most of the ultrasounds except for the first one and the NT scan because his job was too crazy at the time.

2nd trimester: In what week did you schedule your lvl 2 (anatomy scan) u/s? Has DH or any other family members come for your ultrasounds? Forgive my ignorance but I don't exactly know what the anatomy scan is. I assume it is what I just had at 20 weeks where the tech did the baby's measurements... H and my Mom both came fore that one. H has been to all of the appointments but one (had to work).

We were 31 when we started TTC with DS, on TTC # 2 I am 33.
I think I am right on track to where I wanted to be, I always wanted to wait till I was graduated from College

19 weeks, I think I was 20 weeks with DS.
My Mom came with the 20 week u/s DS, as we were very close and she was excited about me having my first.
This time it will be DH and DS, although I have to check and see if he can come, if not it will be DH and I.

I was 27...definitely older than I always imagined I'd be but I never factored in finishing college & buying a house before having children. I think it's just something I never thought about when I was younger...and once we got married I realized there were things we needed to do before I could have a baby. I'm happy now though, I feel much more ready than if I were earlier in my 20's. Same goes for Dh too.
1st trimester: Have you had genetic counseling? What did it entail? I did a lot of blood tests because of my heritage and DH's heritage. Our ancestry hits a lot of those wonky disorders that you need to know about beforehand.
2nd trimester: In what week did you schedule your lvl 2 (anatomy scan) u/s? Has DH or any other family members come for your ultrasounds? My doctor wouldn't let us do it anytime before 20 weeks...so 20 weeks it was. DH came to that one and quite a few more of the u/s. I went to a few on my own and at the very end my Mom came to one of my NST and U/S appts.
L&D: How long did you labor at home before going in? What relaxation methods did you use when you were at home? N/A...induction
First days: How soon did you and baby come home from the hospital? Did anyone have clearance to leave after the first 12 hours and choose to stay longer? H was born on a Friday and we came home Monday. We had a WONDERFUL hospital experience. I can only hope that it'll be that pleasant next time.

L&D: How long did you labor at home before going in? What relaxation methods did you use when you were at home? I woke up around 5am with contractions and we headed to the hospital around noon when my contractions were 2 minutes apart.
First days: How soon did you and baby come home from the hospital? Did anyone have clearance to leave after the first 12 hours and choose to stay longer?DS was born Wednesday night and we were cleared to go home Friday morning.

I always thought that I would have kids young, 22-23. When I hit that age and realized I was crazy, the timetable kept creeping up. T and I started talking seriously about TTC about a year and a half ago and I really wasn't ready until last summer. I'll be 34 in March so I'm older than I ever thought I would be, but the time is perfect for us. We are in a good space in our lives.

I'm in the waiting game... and growing uncomfortable and impatient, and my PUPPS diagnosis and extreme itching is not helping. I have an acupuncture appt later today for relaxation/itch relief. She won't do an induction treatment until after my due date, but I'm hoping maybe the extra relaxation may get things moving. OB group will let me go to 42 weeks, which I'm grateful for, and will offer induction at 41 weeks. I just really hope she comes on her own SOON! So send me some labor dust!

2nd trimester: In what week did you schedule your lvl 2 (anatomy scan) u/s? Has DH or any other family members come for your ultrasounds? It was at 20 weeks exactly. DH was at all my ultrasounds, but no one else.
L&D: How long did you labor at home before going in? What relaxation methods did you use when you were at home? N/A...scheduled c-section due to breech baby.
First days: How soon did you and baby come home from the hospital? Did anyone have clearance to leave after the first 12 hours and choose to stay longer? I was scheduled for the c-section on Saturday morning and we were home Monday evening. They told me I could stay another day if I wanted because of BFing issues, but I was ready to get out of there and actually get some rest. The hospital was fabulous though...I can't say enough about the Kaiser South Sac postpartum nursing staff...amazing!
1st trimester: Have you had genetic counseling? What did it entail? We did genetic testing, but just the NT scan and the blood panels. I figured I wanted to do the least invasive tests and if procedures were needed upon the doctors say-so, I'd do it.
2nd trimester: In what week did you schedule your lvl 2 (anatomy scan) u/s? Has DH or any other family members come for your ultrasounds? We were right under 20 weeks. No one has come to the ultrasounds other than J. He refuses to miss any appointments.
TTC: How old were you when you started TTC? Is that the age you?d always thought you?d be when you had kids, or are you older or younger?
I was 28 when we started TTC, and it felt right. I didn't give much thought to having children when I was younger so I didn't have a target age.
1st trimester: Have you had genetic counseling? What did it entail?
We did the full-panel genetic screening, which included the first trimester blood draw, NT scan and second trimester blood draw.
2nd trimester: In what week did you schedule your lvl 2 (anatomy scan) u/s? Has DH or any other family members come for your ultrasounds?
Anatomy scan is scheduled for Week 20 (three more weeks!). DH has been there for the appointments I've had so far and will be there for the anatomy scan. He'll probably opt out of the next few appts until we get closer to the due date. We aren't inviting other family members to the OB appts, but if we decide to get a 4D ultrasound, we'll invite our parents to come along.
TTC: How old were you when you started TTC? Is that the age you?d always thought you?d be when you had kids, or are you older or younger?
- I was 26 when we TTC and will (hopefully) still be 26 when she arrives... we have babies late in my family, so there's a possibility she could come on or right after my 27th b-day. I thought I'd either never have children or be slightly older because I wanted to have my degree, career, husband, house, etc... I was lucky enough to have everything a bit sooner than anticipated.
1st trimester: Have you had genetic counseling? What did it entail?
- I'm not sure if the NT scan and blood screens are what you mean by genetic counseling, but yes, I did those. It only entailed a detailed ultrasound at 13 weeks and 2 blood draws (one in the 1st tri, one in the 2nd).
2nd trimester: In what week did you schedule your lvl 2 (anatomy scan) u/s? Has DH or any other family members come for your ultrasounds?
- The anatomy scan was scheduled the day before Thanksgiving when I was 20 weeks. We had a whole "reveal" planned for our family on Thanksgiving day... but the ultrasound technician called in "sick" and we had to reschedule for the the next week (21 weeks). It was disappointing to not be able to do the reveal with our families, but glad we still had a chance to see her and confirm the baby is a girl (we got a guess from the NT scan, but wanted to confirm before telling everyone)
DH has come to all of the fun appointments with ultrasounds. I saw no point in having him come to the check-ups that last only 10 minutes, so he got a free pass

When I was in high school, I imagined I would be solidly established in my career before I got married. I didn't think I'd get married before 30. Instead, I got married at 25. So earlier than I had planned.
I started getting the baby bug at about 26. I thought we would actually start trying around 27. I am now 28 and we are just starting the whole TTC thing. So later than I had planned!
1st trimester: Have you had genetic counseling? What did it entail? no.
2nd trimester: In what week did you schedule your lvl 2 (anatomy scan) u/s? Has DH or any other family members come for your ultrasounds? anatomy scan at 18 weeks, a bit earlier than usual, but we were USA bound a week later. DH has come to all my big ultrasounds. i get an ultrasound at every appointment in my OB's office, but DH doesn't come to those.
3rd trimester: Are you ready?
nope, not at all. we are moving in a month, so i have sorted nothing out nursery-wise. i have minimal stuff for the baby. all i have is what i brought home with me from CA, and it's still all packed in a suitcase in the garage.
