Confession

I already started Christmas shopping for the new year, LOL!  I couldnt help it, Walmart had a Toy Story back pack that included a hat, sunglasses and frisbee for only $1 total!!!, and Target's dollar section had some awesome learning flash cards and activity books.  It will all be for DH's nephew :)  I only spent $5.

Re: Confession

  • Hey I am all about bargin and if you can get them on sale why not?

I  am already starting an inspiration file and hopefully I will start on Christmas soon. I am not going to make as many presents this year, but I want to start looking.

  • I've heard of people who basically keep a "gift drawer" or closet in their house.  As they see things that are on awesome sale and can think of someone they know who would like it, they go ahead and buy it, regardless of the time of year.  Then when that person's birthday or Christmas comes around, you already have a gift.  I don't think it's a bad idea at all, as long as you have a good way to keep it organized and remember what you've bought (and who it's for!).

That's a good idea!  I kept all of my Christmas gifts in a rubbermaid tub this past year, I didnt have to worry about where I put things either :)  I should continue that, and keep it in a guest closet.  To remember who it's for, I might put a post it on each item.  Thanks for the suggestion :)

My mom has done this for as long as I can remember.  She always has small gifts ready to go.  Lately, she has been stocking up on bath and body works products when they are on sale or if she has a coupon.
She also had a box full of school supplies that she restocked each fall when school supplies were on sale, so that when we ran out of something during the school year, we didn't have to go to the store and pay more for the supplies.
