No real reason for this post, I'm just super excited!!! I hired my doula today...a really nice girl and I think we're going to become good friends
Jenifriend, I see you liked her business on FB!!
Also have interviews with midwife and ob tomorrow! I really hope they go well! If I go with midwife I will be having a home birth, which I would prefer, but will have to pay for the delivery out of pocket! Darn insurance companies! OB is supposed to be pretty good too and very open for a natural birth (but I can't have a water birth...only labor in water). So we'll see how it goes! I'm just so happy that things are finally coming together!!! Hopefully by Friday it will all be decided!
Oh! AND.... my little brother is going to come visit me over the weekend! I am so excited to see him, I just love him to death! He's going to help me do some work for the nursery and is going to take some nice belly maternity pictures for me! It might be a little awkward since I do want some semi-nude ones...like where my breasts are just slightly covered....but oh well! He's a big boy
Plus the focus is on my big ol belly...and I don't want any nip! He's a film major at Savannah College of Art and Design so I'm sure he'll get over it! I KNOW that they are going to turn out amazing...he has a great eye! He made my wedding video and took some of my favorite pictures of the wedding. If your friends with me on FB you get to see some of his short films that I post up from time to time...he's so talented!
Sorry about just AWing!!! I'm just having a really good day and wanted to share! Now I'm off to do some crib shopping (online) I can't believe I STILL haven't ordered one! I think the thing that is stopping me is that I'm nervous that I'll be super happy with it for Gratia...but not want to use it for the next kid! I don't want to regret not picking a different one and definitly don't want to have to buy new cribs for each kid!
Re: Hired my doula today!!! AW post...long :)
Awwww so excited that you are having such a fantastic day!!
BTW in terms of the crib situation...you can always get one of the ones that converts to a bed so that when baby G is big enough for a "big girl bed" you can put her in the converted crib and buy a new crib for the new baby. Otherwise you'll just have to buy her a bed when the new baby needs the crib so either way you gotta buy something
Haha, you made me google "doula". : )
Exciting that all of this is starting to be so real and happening for you now!!!
I am so excited for you! You are moving along quite quickly, and it is always so nice to get things marked off the list. Good luck with your decision, but I am sure either way will be a good decision.
Oh, and can someone do a FB suggestion that has both of us? I dont think that I have you as a friend.
Ditto!

So funny story! I just ordered our crib!!! After months and months of searching I guess all I needed to do was post that I hadn't done it yet on here! Goal for tomorrow night is to research and order a crib mattress!
Yes please will someone do friend suggestion for me and courtney???
Thanks!!!
I'm so happy you're so happy
And yay for a crib - i didn't even really know there were that many choices. Soooo not ready for a LO over here!
first, love that you're doing a doula! i'm a huge fan of homebirthing - some of my very good friends have gone as far as unassisted though i'm not sure i'll be mentally prepared for something of that nature with baby #1 - let me know if you need ANYTHING! i have a ton of really knowledgeable women around me if you're looking for answers to questions and want a quick response!
second, LOVE that you're having maternity photos taken!! i hear so many women say things like, 'i'm too fat' or 'i hate the way i look'...the thing is...you're carrying a miracle inside of you and you deserve to preserve that memory!
Yay! What an awesome day! I can't wait to see pictures of Gratia's nursery!!
I'm sure the pictures with your bro will be a little awkward at first but the professional in him will likely come out quickly!!
I've read a little about doula's! Sounds like they can be really helpful!

My cousin in PA had the maternity photos done too. She's gorgeous and has a great body and looked awesome when she was pregnant with her DD. She showed me the pics (on the sly, away from all the boy cousins) and they looked great - she did a silhouette one, then one where she was topless and had her arms covering her breasts up. Very professional and classy photos.
Ok I'll admit it too. I had to google doula.
Glad to hear that everything is coming together so well. Please, please post the pregnancy photos!
I'm so very excited for you!
