boy!!!
I guess I am part of the 29% of moms who guess incorrectly 
We are both really excited about it, and I reminded Chris that little boys love their mamas the most...haha! It was so cool to see him again...he was moving around, and we could see his little heart beating on the monitor. I can't wait for my next appointment where we do the big ultrasound!

He still looks like a skeleton at this stage...you can see that he is looking at the camera. And we can see that he at least has all five fingers on the hand he is "waving" with!
Also - congratulations to the newly announced pregnant girls!!! I'm sorry I missed the earlier posts...haven't been on as much lately. I hope everyone is feeling great!

And Chris is soo right, haha atleast in my life's equivalent ( our kid = our dog). For dogs (I hope this isn't offensive to you b/c obviously having a child is MUCH more exciting than a dog), but all of the breeders we talked to said that males tend to me more snuggly and dependent where as females have the natural instinct to be independent and motherly. I've nannied/babysat for 3 familes in the past 6 days and definitely agree the the mother-son relationship seemed to be extra "special" compared to mother-daughter.

And, yes, I do have quite a little bump. I am very short waisted, so I don't have a cute little basketball...everything is just big, haha! I promise I will take and post pictures one of these days like you guys asked me to do.
Hannah - not offensive at all - our dog is like our kid, too, so I totally understand the thought process of comparing the two. I've been making the same types of comparisons for the past ten years of my dog's life!

We just like the name Carter...in fact, we agreed on it on a trip we took to the Texas Hill Country for our second anniversary, so it's three years in the making.
Matthew is my dad's middle name, and was his father's name, so hopefully Carter will appreciate the fact that it comes from someone special.
We briefly discussed Brady Thomas (like the first name, middle is a family name), but figured people might think we named him after a certain quarterback...
