wow, 10 days already

and no new posts about resolutions?  I guess we're all out there working towards them!

I don't have resolutions, per se, but I have set some definite goals for this year and will do what it takes to reach them.  And as of a couple of days ago, I'm apparently running my first 5k in May.  Now this may not sound big, but I'm pretty sure the last time I ran was in high school... around sophomore year.  We're talking almost 20 years (OMG, did I actually just type that??).  And even then at 125 lbs my knees had issues.  Well it's 20 years and ___ lbs later and my knees are still my knees.  The mommy group I've been in for almost 3 years has decided to do it as a team.  We're signing up for running, not walking.  This may very well kill me, but if it doesn't, it will definitely help me reach my fitness goals for this year.  So C25K, here I come.  For business, I will overcome my shyness and learn to approach people with our opportunity and I will reach the top of our pay plan before the end of summer so I can walk across the stage at convention.  I'm also racing my DH to 6 figures.

What is everyone else hoping to accomplish this year?

  • No resolutions here. But I have a question for you. Where/how did you find your mommy group?

  • I never make any resolutions, not sure why, just never have. I am hoping to get a new kitchen counter this year and would LOVE to retile my shower. Trying to eat healthier as well I guess, not far from prebaby weight but would like to see that number again...
  • No resolutions here. Like Ann I have never made any.

Have you looked at meetup.com for a moms group?

  • My main mommy group is moms that I met when we started gymboree when my daughter was 2 months old.  We all had kids around the same age and we built relationships through there, but then it expanded as the kids got older and we needed out of the house more.  We started arranging for play dates.

I also joined the local MOMS Club.  I've met some great people there too.  It's different because the kids are all different ages vs. all within a few months like my ex-gymboree group.  What area are you in?

  • I'm on the border of san bernardino/riverside county line by the 91/60/215 interchange. I checked out meetup but they are pretty much for stay/work at home moms and I work full time.

Oh that's bummer. I have kinda resigned myself to the fact that A. I'm not going to find a moms group because I work and B. I wouldn't even have the time to go if I did find one.

  • I know that MOMS Club is for SAHM or WAHM, but I've seen play groups for working moms on some of my meetup "what's nearby" (or whatever) feeds.  Hopefully you can find something, or maybe start one?  Can you get to any gymboree, my gym, etc. classes with your schedule?
