How old were you when you started your period?

It wasn't an enjoyable experience for me either. Ugh. I remember being horrified when I figured out what was going on. And for some strange reason I didn't want to tell my mom, so I used rolled up toilet paper. Finally on day 2 I broke down and told my mom. And she took me Eckerds to buy some pads and tampons.
But toilet paper? Yeah, that really didn't work out to well for me :

Me too. I was in 6th grade.
The school nurse was my friend's mom. She let me go home for the day.
I was a really late bloomer. I had just turned 15. I also was really short and had no boobs whatsever until halfway through high school.
11. I realized during lunch break. I was so upset I failed a test that afternoon.
The most embarassing thing was when my dad came home and said "your mom told me the news, congratulations on becoming a woman" I was mortified to be having the discussion with my father.

I was the same way. I really think late blooming and being petite must be related somehow.
Haha. I begged my mom not to tell my dad when I started my period. Really, I have no idea why I was so adamant about that. I guess that age was awkward enough that I wanted to eliminate any potential for an uncomfortable conversation with my dad.

LoL THIS! Except for the age. I really don't remember how old I was, just that I was like the last one left without it.
