So, between my impending shortened commute to work and mileage reimbursement from work, my gas bill is about to go from $360 a month to $30 a month! That eats up over half of the pay cut I've taken. Combine that with slightly lower rent (another $50) and the ss tax decrease, I've almost completely made up my effective pay cut! This means our debt replayment plan shouldn't be delayed by too much, maybe only a couple months! So instead of being debt free (aside from student loans) by September, we're looking at December. Not too bad considering my cut in pay!
Oh, and I'm really liking my new office more and more every day. The other attorneys seem to get along for the most part (there is one you have to watch your back around), they go out to lunch frequently with each other. We get to go home early on days we're done with court early (offset by days we have to stay late). I was home by 3:45 Friday! I get along really well with the boss (she's like me, only 10 years older, personality-wise) and the other attorney I share courts with. My old office just posted a vacancy this week that could potentially give me more money, but no way I'd apply for it! This change in atmosphere is worth the lower salary!

Yay for being close to moving into a house! Boo for the long (temporary) commute! I wouldn't want to drive on 35 for that long either.
