When serving beef bourguignon (sp)....

  • My mom made it and I think she did either one so I've done the same thing. Sometimes I've made green beans but other times had just salad. It does have vegetables in it but not much. We make it on egg noodles though. GL!
  • Boeuf bourguignon is traditionally served over egg noodle (although I'm lazy and serve it with rice) or potatoes (mashed potatoes, or steamed/boiled parsley potatoes). If you really want, you can also serve it with any light salad (but we usually eat the salad first, not along with the main dish).

  • I think it depends on your audience. I think that a first course salad or something light prior to the main meal might be good, but if you just have a bunch of people who like to eat a lot of heavy food, then maybe some brussel sprouts or kale sauteed with currants might be good too. I just think it is a heavy course, so too many dishes at once might be overkill.
