Please recommend restaurants!
Hey Ladies!
I'm going to be in Austin in two weeks and I was hoping that you could give me some recommendations on what restaurants I HAVE to eat at! Preferably places that don't break the bank.
And, if there's anything else not food related that you want to recommend, I'm all ears!
TIA!!

Re: Please recommend restaurants!
Chuy's (TexMex)
Kerbey Lane (American)
Magnolia Cafe (American)
Uchi (sushi)
Round Rock Donuts
For barbeque, if you can't make it out to Lockhart (For the world famous Kreuz's, Black's, or Smitty's) then the Salt Lick is pretty good.
my favorite restaurant in austin is:
tasteofethiopiaaustin.com
for BBQ, the salt lick in driftwood is fun, but it's kind of out of town. i also like smokey mo's.

Guero's, Chuy's or Trudy's for Tex-Mex. Trudy's has the bonus of Mexican martinis, just be sure to have a DD!
For a quick lunch when you don't want something fancy, I'd recommend FreeBirds World Burrito and Thundercloud Subs.

My 101
Sorry - had to post and run. I'm staying in South Austin but I'm visiting all the areas so anywhere is fine.
These are two of my favorites.

One of my favorite things to do in town is to have Sunday brunch on South Congress (stretch of street with restaurants, shops, etc.) then listen to live music at Guero's courtyard.
Sounds like I definitely need to hit South Congress because many people have suggested this area!
Thanks again everyone!
My favorite place to eat lately is Phara's (Meditterranean). www.pharas.com Plus you can get a good deal at www.restaurant.com on a gift certificate there. It has an AWESOME atmosphere (belly dancers, outdoor firepits, hookah bar, just over all really cool atmosphere)
These are my other favorites:
Cuerra's (Mexican) www.cuerrasgrill.com
South Congress Cafe (pasta, fish, steak, etc)
The Oasis is cool for drinks and chips and salsa if you want the cool view of the lake. The food is just OK though and overpriced for the quality.
Hula Hut (Tex Mex) is right on the river and again - a cool atmosphere
Thanks!!
