Jets vs. Patriots playoff menu?!

So, what's on your menu for Sunday's game?

Looks like we're having our parents over, and DH's brother & his family.

DH wants to do meatball sandwiches... which is fine, but I'm looking for some other suggestions for easy but yummy picky foods.

What's your plan?  Or do you have any suggestions?  I'm drawing a blank!

Re: Jets vs. Patriots playoff menu?!

  • I don't plan to watch the game but how about a big platter of nachos??

Melt some shredded cheese on some tortilla chips, then brown some hamburg with taco seasoning and add on top of the cheesy chips. Then Lettuce, Tomato, and olives with salsa and sour cream on the side.

I made a huge platter for christmas eve, was super easy and a hit.

you could put in the crockpot overnight on saturday into sunday to reheat come game time. i'm making it tonight for josh to take to his guys weekend and for lunch with my friend on saturday.

my best friend did hillshire farms l'il smokies wrapped in bacon as an app on new year's day, they were soooo good! i can ask her for the recipe if you'd like.

if you want to just do two kinds of meatballs, these were a hit at the DC cookie GTG:

i forgot to try them but DH said they were great and really not that spicy, just a little kicky.

You just reminded me that BIL/SIL are bringing that!   I love it too.

  • brown sugar smokies are super easy and really good.

1 package lil smokies (hillshire farm)

    1 cup brown sugar

    1 pound center cut bacon

cut the bacon strips in three sections.  coat each side with brown sugar and wrap around the smokie and secure with a toothpick.  put on a folil lined baking sheet and cook at 350 from around 20 minutes or until crispy. (i used the nonstick foil)

you can make them ahead of time too.  the sugar makes a syrup that way so just pour the syrup on them on the baking sheet.

  • Pigs-in-a-blanket are the official football snack of my house.  :) We'll be having those and a few other things.  I think Ina's Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms, Asian Party Mix, Spicy Eggplant Dip, and something sweet...probably the Malted Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies cheeks shared (made them to give to neighbors at Christmas and they were awesome!).

    Go Pats!

PS - did anyone hear Welker's interview? The feet references were genius.  Love him!
