Have you ever stolen something whether it was on purpose or accident? If you accidentally stole something did/would you bring it back to pay for it?

I have been unloading the stroller at Target and noticed that one of the kids stuck a book or something (that I was going to buy and gave one of them to hold) under the stroller and I didn't see it when we were checking out. I usually don't go back in then to pay for it, but bring it back next time we go and pay for it then. The most something they stuck under there has cost is $1.
At Target once too I bought some shoes and when I got home I realized they never charged me for them. I brought them back though and paid for them.
A few years ago I was at Wal-mart and as we were loading the car, I realized there was a bag of jeans in our cart that weren't ours. I brought them back in and told them that they were in our cart but I didn't pay for them and I didn't want them. They acted like I stole them or something.
You're not lame at all! A good conscience is a wonderful thing, and it'll keep you out of trouble every time.
That's irritating. I went to Wal-Mart a couple of years ago and almost forgot to unload a couple of things of baby food because it'd rolled under one of those ad things. The cashier was like, "Thought you could get away without paying for that, huh?" I just looked at her and said, "These are on sale. I can afford $2 to feed my baby. I don't need to steal." She shut up pretty quickly after that, but I hate that.
Here's my confession:
When I was in JR. High I was hanging out with some friends at Walgreens (I think) and they both stole some eyeliner so to fit in I stole a tube of lip gloss. I felt so bad about it when we left the store. And to top it off the lip gloss was horrible. Very sticky and tasted bad so I never used it. So I learned my lesson and never stole again.
Ami we can't be friends anymore.
(lol)
Eh. I have been at stores plenty of times and things right up too high. Is the store stealing from me? One time they overcharged me a lot and I didn't catch it before the transaction was complete. I had to go to customer service and she rang it up as 'cash' even though I asked for it on my card and never gave me cash. I think she stole it.
I don't think it is stealing if it is not deliberate. If I catch it later, I will assess how expensive the time was and whether it is worth my time and their time to correct the issue. If I see it during checkout, of course I will point it out.
When I was buying stuff at Hobby Lobby for the wedding, H picked up a few things on his lunch break. It was $1 but they charged him $10. He didn't know. I took the reciept back and they fixed it - only this time I ended up getting back more money they we ever paid. I had other things that weren't priced wrong so I didn't notice the mistake until I got home. It was so messed up that I just left it.
I feel the same way. Hence the reason I brought the 50 cent book back to Target to pay for it.
When I was a freshman in high school, I was at the mall with a group of girls. One of the girls decided we should all steal something and everyone did, except me. I just couldn't do it. One of my friends stole an extra something on my behalf and tried to give it to me. I couldn't even take it. I felt so bad.
