Happy Friday, Fit Chicks!

I hate my scale.  In the last 11 days, I have only taken one day off from working out.   I have cut back to 1500 calories a day.  The scale has not budged.  This is not as easy as the last time I lost weight.  Darnit.

Soooo Weekly Wrap-up and Weekend Plans:

I ran 3 days and did one day of 30 Day Shred.  I included more fruts and veggies this week for snacks.   Carrots are actually quite filling.  We had some delicious healthy meals this week and I have discovered a new love - brussel sprouts!   I'm glad for the 3 day weekend - I should be able to get a run in every day.  One of these nights, we are eating out so I will have to be good during the day.  I have accounted for every glass of wine and have not gone for a 2nd one if I don't have it in my calorie budget.  :)   Just wish that number would start to go down on the scale!!

Re: Happy Friday, Fit Chicks!

  • Annie, I was just getting ready to post the same thing.  I was down five pounds last week and the scale has not moved since, despite the fact that I have been hungry and have been calculating every last item I put into my body.  WTF?  I had such high hopes and had really convinced myself that it wouldn't make any difference that I was five years older and had had a child since the last time I counted points.  Guess I was wrong.

    Anywho...

Food: I have stuck to my points budget religiously, which I am proud of.   I have everything planned out for the weekend so I feel like I can be successful.  Meals will mostly consist of leftovers, which is fine.

Exercise:  Tonight I will so my usual 20 minute strength training routine.  I missed my cardio workout on Wednesday because of the storm so I am going to make that one up on Saturday morning.  I took Monday off from work because daycare is closed so I won't make it to the gym that day either.  I am going to do a cardio workout on Sunday to make up for that one.

Like Annie said, all in all, I am happy with my progress and determination, I just wish the scale moved a little bit.  I start the new week on Monday, so maybe there will be some progress by then.  Fingers crossed!

  • Food: I've been good this week.  I'm worried I've been a bit too good and will end up splurging this weekend but I just weighed myself to keep up my motivation!  Hopefully this will work.

Exercise: I only got in three workouts instead of four, so I'll do an extra one tomorow.  I had every intention of working out last night but I had a massage yesterday and my massage therapist ordered an evening of heat pad and no exercise because one of my shoulders was in bad shape.  I followed her directions to a t so hopefully I'll be okay this evening.

  • Starting to come out of my cold enduced fog as well as gaining some of the ellusive 2nd trimester energy, so I've been feeling a lot more motivation to work out, woohoo! I have no idea what my weight is doing, given the growing bambino, but I do feel a lot better after getting on the wagon with my yoga/pilates series and eating much better than over the holidays!

Food: I've been sticking with an upped veggie intake and lean proteins, and it seems to be working pretty well. I do have the occasional cravings that I give in to, but I'm trying to keep them within reason. DH flies home Sunday & I've got Monday off, so I'm guessing we'll probably go out to eat on Monday night, so it may be a bit of a spluge.

Excersize: I laid off for a few days while I battled the cold, but I did 45 mins of shoveling on Weds, so I counted that as a decent workout. Yesterday I did my pilates floor routine and I plan on doing standing today, floor tomorrow, standing on Sunday and taking Monday off.

  • Ditto Annie and Kristen!  I feel like I'm being really good, eating really health especially with all my dietary restrictions, not eating out, and starting to add exercise, and the scale is moving really slooooowly.  Mid-week it had actually looked like I gained a couple of pounds, but I think that must have been a fluke and I was just bloated or something, because I'm down a half a pound now since last week.  Every time I've done WW I've always lost like 10 lbs the first two weeks, so it's kind of a bummer to only see a couple pounds come off since Jan 1st.  I was thinking my thyroid meds might be off, but those levels came back normal (which is good, but would have been nice to blame it on that!).  I'll keep plugging along.  I'm still doing the 30 day shred although took a break on Wednesday for the snow day.  It's still tough but maybe getting a little easier?

  • Well I was doing good Monday, ate good, got a great workout in then on Tuesday and Wednesday I was sick with the flu and am still recovering. There goes my goal of working out 4 days out the window. Oh well hopefully next week.

The days that I could actually eat, I counted my points and did well again in that department. However, I am not seeing the numbers drop like I have hoped they would. However, I do feel like I have more energy now that I am eating better!

  • Food: I did really well this week counting my calories using Loseit.com. I'm pretty proud of myself for that. Last night I did well too and hope to continue counting them throughout the weekend (weekends are where I usually fail at counting calories, but I'm really movitvated to do well). DH is counting calories too so it's awesome that we're doing this together! I realized this week that I really need to eat more fruits and veggies. So that will be my goal starting this weekend and especially next week after i do some grocery shopping. Last weekend I baked some healthy muffins that I've had all week for snacks. I plan on making something this weekend too for healthy snacks during the week. Maybe a whole wheat Banana Bread or something. :)

Exercise: I only worked out 2 days this week. I did something to my neck, so I've been taking it easy. Today I'm feeling a little better though, so hope to do my P90X leg workout and also go for a walk/snow shoe today.

  • Andrea, and any one else using LoseIt (Sarah?), do you want to be my friend?  I might eat more vegetables and less popsicles if I knew someone else could see :)
