TGIF!!!!

I am SO glad it's Friday...now it just needs to hurry up and be 5 o'clock!

Don's been sick the past week and he finally went to the doctor yesterday and it's a sinus infection, at least he got some meds for it though!  The good thing though is that he took this weekend off to get better - so we get the whole weekend together!  No real plans, which I'm happy about!

Re: TGIF!!!!

  • This has been THE longest week! I have a few therapy groups and a meeting away from being the weekend. No big plans this weekend and I have Monday off so I'm excited about that!

  • Coming back after the holidays is always the worst.  Work has been torture this week - never so happy to see a Friday come.  Hanging out with my BFF tomorrow (yay!) and dinner with the MIL on Sunday (meh).  And...dragging K to Babies R Us to register.  It's the biggest thrill of his life.  Hopefully it won't be too painful.

  • So happy the week is over.  C'mon 3pm!  Tonight is poker night, the first of the new year and I'll be breaking in my new chip set.  Funtimes w/ awesome ladies makes me happy as a clam :)

doing a wedding registry was fun...i can't imagine how much fun a baby registry would be - tiny clothes, shoes, and toys are just so cute!

  • morning ladies!! I had a phone interview yesterday it went well. I'll find out in 7-10 days if I get an interview. I have another interview next week for a children's hospital that's in the area. I'm hoping I will get one of these jobs!!

Also, we met up with our photog last night and finalized our album. I ended up getting the extra spreads that I wanted :)

  • AMEN!  I'm having such a difficult time adjusting to working again.

Also,  my client is kinda freaking out.  I thought it was just the developers he was annoyed at, but he just asked for a 2pm meeting with me.  Yikes!

I liked doing the wedding registry - K not so much (and I even let him have the scan gun!).  At least with this stuff, he'll get to take it apart & put it together in the store - things like the stroller, carseat, etc - basically, playing for him.  I drool over the clothes, etc, but since we're not telling gender, it's hard to register for anything really cute!

Originally we weren't going to find out at all.  Then we decided if we could tell we'd guess but it would probably be a blur.  U/s pics are so hard to tell anyway, right?  @ the Doc's office, the tech put the wand under the baby's butt and it spread it's legs for all the world to see.  But, we've gotten so much grief from parents/siblings/friends about our plan to not find out the gender that we decided to keep it to ourselves.  We're evil & vindictive like that.  As far as they know, we don't know - easier than having them hound us to find out.Devil

  • TGIFFFFF!

I am doing my major clean this weekend. Today, I'm just trying to make it through. I feel like I've had to claw my way through this week, and I'm exhausted. The gods of work took a huge dump on my desk and every single person here wants something from me, my BFF going through a divorce is not in a good place and I am stressing badly for her, I wish my SIL would disappear for all of eternity, and Relay For Life is in full swing so I need to be present and get my stuff done for that.

Relay Kickoff went well last night, we had a lot of people come, which I didn't expect. I hate talking in front of people but I did ok, and I managed to avoid the circumspect reporter all night, but I was captured by his weird photographer who was begging me to cut the cake before she left. Christ.

We were out of there by 8:45, and MFD, Brian and I went and had another drink in Fishtown and shared a cheese plate. We dropped him at home, then went home and fell into bed at 11.

I slept fitfully, thank you red wine. I am starved today. I am going to have a naughty lunch and read my book for an hour.

  • I'm in a terrible mood.  I woke up at 7 am or earlier to the sounds of DEMOLITION in the apartment above ours.  I got up to work out and after a while the sledgehammering had given me a migraine and pissed me off to the point that I went upstairs to bang on the door and see WTF was going on.  That's when I found out they were renovating - the guy didn't even apologize, and said they hadn't started until 8 which is a blatant effing lie.

I can't believe we weren't given any notice.  It sounded like the walls and ceiling were going to come crashing down on us, we were scared to be in the rooms below the demo work.  Stuff was falling off of the shelves in our closet, pieces of plaster were flaking off of the ceiling, and the bathroom cabinet was shaking so much that I thought the mirror was going to break.  I wrote an irate e-mail to the leasing center, and I'm considering not renewing our lease.  We only have two weeks to decide, but we wouldn't move out until June 30th.  I'm pissed and have been searching for apartments online all morning, but apparently everything around here is a sh!thole.

  • Finally Friday!  I'm happy to report that we didn't have an earthquake last night.  I was so worried because we had a series of quakes early Tues morning.  The largest was a 4.5 which woke me up, the rest were aftershocks.  Then on Wed there were a few small quakes.  My aunt and I were worried that there is a big one coming.

As for weekend plans, I have a wedding to help out with tomorrow, then we have a b-day party at a club.  We're generally not "clubbin" type people but this one has "older" people, who act mature and do not a fool.  Sunday is our football and lazy day.

  • I am super ready for this weekend!  This was my first full week since before Christmas, with the holidays and vacation.  Ugh.  But we're off to Tahoe tonight for my annual grad school reunion, which I'm really looking forward to.  And Monday off, yay!

  • I'm not sure if the rest of you feel like this - but Friday...ANY Friday seems to take forever to go by (well, unless you are on vacation, then all the days fly by!!).  I am counting down the minutes until 4:30 and I get to leave here for another weekend.

However, ever since we got engaged and started looking for a house (back in October 09) the weekends seem to get here and are gone before we realize it.  And now that we are married, between family and housework and washing and all that fun stuff - it seems like we go to sleep Friday night and wake up Monday morning.  Where do the weekends go?

Thankfully we have no plans for this weekend and I am looking forward to just vegging out and doing a whole lot of nothing this weekend.

  • My MIA MOH actually wants to hang out with me tonight, so (unless she bails at the last minute) I will be hanging with her. If she bails, I'm helping B&SIL pack because they are moving into the house they just bought! Yay for them!

Tomorrow we are doing some painting at my office and possibly helping with the move, if they are ready to start moving, lol.

No plans for Sunday, maybe DH and I will go shopping for something to wear in family pictures with DSD (who we got to see last weekend, btw! So happy!!!) No more to say on that topic though, don't want to upset any lurky-loos.

mushE, have fun in tahoe--where are you going out there?

i woke up at 4:30 this am and never went back to sleep.  worked for a few busy hours, then took the rest of the day off to clean and do the shopping for Alison (arosem) and lia's visit!  we are going to have a fun weekend of skiing and boozing (yes, my mini bar is more stocked than it has ever been...8 bottles of wine, a handle of tequila, a handle of vodka, 60 beers, and some baileys...yeesh!)

  • Shauni - Thank you, I really want to raise as much money as we can for people in Philadelphia with cancer. I am ready to kick cancer's a$$ this year!  I hope you girls have so much fun this weekend! Enjoy!

This day cannot go any slower. I feel like laying my head down on my desk and passing out.

  • I'm happy its friday and I got to stay home today because I have no car. As some of you might have seen on my FB I went and got my oil changed and then my car wouldn't start. They tried to jump off the battery thinking that was what the problem was but with new cars you can't just throw cables on there and try to jump it so they fried the main computer in my car and I had to have it towed to a shop and they have to order the part so my car won't be ready until atleast monday or tuesday. But now the oil place is saying it's not their fault so they are having to investagate it. uuuugggghhh!!!! I hate not having a car what the heck am i going to do this weekend with no car. Atleast H has tomorrow off, first Saturday hes had off in about 3 months. I have never had a car in the shop ever. This makes me so mad, and sad when I saw my car being towed. Not to mention I had like a million things to do this weekend and now can't. And i'm ovulating and the last thing I want to do is have sexy time with H. (maybe tmi) sorry rant over now!
