Who has snow?
How much did you get?
Do you like it?
Re: sNoW!!!
I'm grumpy. We were supposed to get 1-3 with sleet/freezing rain added at the end.
I would be very generous if I said we have a dusting! Snow had better start falling in the southern DC area sometime this winter. It's getting old that we keep getting skipped over in the snow line.
We did get a 2 hour delay but the county I live in (7 miles south) got no school....
we've got 12-14 inches already, and its still coming down. My company is not opening till 10 but lucky me, i have a laptop so i didnt get to sleep late. I'm working from home all day....no way am i driving in this junk.
I'm impartial to the snow. It's ok so long as i'm not out in it. I can't wait for DH to come home so he can snow blow. lol i can't use that thing for my life.

I think we got around 20". School was cancelled at 5pm yesterday! I just cleaned off both mine and DH car, and our cars are def. snowed in!! DH is being picked up by a co-worker to go to work, and I will clean, bake, and exercise, then work on lessons, and my TEAM paper
I like the snow when it cancels school
Also from the DC area (though west of DC) we got maybe a dusting, enough to cover the street, not the grass. Just enough to be annoying.
I don't mind the actual snow, but I hate driving in it because no one here knows how to do so, but I'd rather get snow now when I am home and on break, not when I have to drive to school for my grad classes.
Hope everyone stays safe.
Oh did i not say it right? Not enough coffee this morning, i guess. I AM working on my laptop all day. But that also meant i had to start work at 6:30 unlike the people who cant work from home and have to go in, they get to start at 10

I can't see my car... not sure how much that is. We are continuing to get snow till 6pm tonight. Fun fun. Luckily I have the day off. People stayed over last night at work. Our big bosses said if we didn't come in we were to be written up, snow is not an excuse to call out.
We got a few inches... unfortunately I don't think I'll ever have a snow day again. The joys of living in Chicago! I don't think the university I work at has ever had a snow day (at least not in the past 10 years). Now that I only live 3 or 4 miles away, the snow isn't that big of a deal. It may take 20 min instead of 10 to get home
My first year of grad school here- I almost missed a final b/c of the snow! Where I grew up, side streets were rarely plowed the first day or two after a snow fall. The suburb I lived in while in grad school, I soon found out, plowed all streets within 12 hours! We got about a foot late afternoon/early evening. I got home, parked on the street, went and studied for my biochem final. The test was at 1pm, I tried to leave at noon... and found my car completely plowed in! The snow was piled about a foot over the bottom of the doors. I had to walk to a hardware store, buy a shovel, dig out my car, and made it to the test for the last half of it. I had called immediately- and it was scheduled to be a 4 hour test, half short essay, half fill-in/multiple choice. They gave me half that day, and I took the other half the next morning.
Wow, you are lucky your school worked with you regarding the final!
We were supposed to get about 10 inches so all the schools closed last night. We got like 5, and we should have just had a 2 hour delay. So we wasted a snow day (not that I didn't enjoy sleeping in!) that we're probably going to need down the line. Kim, it looks like the storm tracked farther north than was predicted, so that you're getting all of the snow WE were supposed to get!
Today is DH's birthday, so I picked up the cake last night and he took the day off of work. We've just gotten up and in a little while, I will make us birthday pancakes before we go out to shovel.
RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.
We got four inches.... which doesn't get us anything. If it's going to snow, it should at least make it worth it. I only like the snow until Christmas, though. I would be perfectly fine if the day after Christmas brought a Spring thaw. I am realllllly tired of winter. It should just end. Now. After DH graduates, we are seriously considering a move to AZ.
lol yeah we're definitely getting more than forecasted!
happy birthday to your dh!!! and yay for both being home for his birthday

Mel- enjoy the day home with your DH! Have fun celebrating his birthday!
Thanks - we just finished shoveling, so we will!
Update: Apparently, it's still snowing out east on LI, so my district was right to close. Nassau County could have done a two hour delay.

my read shelf:
I don't know exact totals for my town but I heard Boston got 18", which sounds about right for us. We got a ton....it was crazy! My company didn't close (or even delay opening - we NEVER close) but I didn't go in. I wish I had a laptop so I could have gotten work done. Oh well. It was nice to sleep in, though I'm pretty sure that's the rest I slept like crap last night!
I keep reading all my Atlanta friends' FB statuses - yesterday was day 3 of the city basically being shut down. From what I've read, the roads are like sheets of ice cause when they got some snow, they have like no plows or salt trucks so everything just froze. Fun times!
