What is wrong with high school boys?? (work story)
So like I've mentioned before, I am "blessed" to spend the majority of my day with 14 & 15 year olds teaching them science. Yesterday and today are semester exams. Yesterday, one of my freshmen boys didn't finish his exam by the end of the period (not even half way done). I suspected he wouldn't finish because when I looked up at one point (he sits right in front of my desk), he was involved in a pretty intense game of "pocket pool" I was horrified!!!!

In answer to the question in the title: Everything.
I can't believe he would choose pocket pool to a PASSING GRADE. Even if you don't know it, at least BS so you can get SOMETHING.
Oye!
Oh my god... awkward! How do you even address that?? I think I'd pawn that one off onto the principal, that's what s/he gets paid the big bucks for
MIL is a jr high teacher. She's like.. the life skills (or whatever it's called this week) teacher. Sewing, cooking, and yay, sex ed. Oy. At Christmas she let me read some of the questions they wrote. She gave them each a sheet of paper to ask one anonymous question. Scary. Mostly questions about how big your boobs or penis should be at 13/14.
I think what was worse than the actual questions, was the grammar they used. Seriously, this "no child left behind" stuff is just crap. They're pushing kids through the system before they master whatever they were supposed to learn that year. My kid brother is a sophomore in college and still doesn't know (or even CARE to know) even the easy ones.. their/they're/there and to/too. Sigh.

OMG Jena, that story about your MIL's class is funny!
And I do agree....EVERYTHING is wrong with HS boys.
This kid finally finished his exam today (another 1.5 hrs I think) and got a B+! His activity yesterday must have helped him think, but I do not condone it!!! One of the male teachers should talk to him, they make us talk to girls about their cleavage!
