? for Runners
Hi Girls, Happy New Year! I haven't been on here in a while, but I thought I'd say hello and ask a few questions to the runners out there. I remember reading on here that many of your girls were taking up running and suggested the couch to 5K program. I have been thinking about it for a while, and now a friend of mine is interested in training with me. Has anyone tried this program and is it worth the money? Any other advice or insight to offer?

The program itself is free. You can find it at C25K at Coolrunning.com. There is a link to it on the main Coolrunning page too. I've never done it, but a lot of people use it to get themselves into running. Good luck!
That's great that you have a friend who wants to do it. Running buddies are helpful in holding you accountable

I don't run (anymore... blew out my knees in high school) but, I highly recommend that you get fitted for a running shoe at a running specialty store like Rhode Runners -- http://www.rhoderunner.net/
Invest in a good pair that fits your foot perfectly and you'll have a much more pleasant running experience!

Alicia, I will be sure to invest in a good pair of running shoes, thank you! Now if only the weather would cooperate...I'm not a fan of running in the freezing cold!!
