Laptop recs and Computer ?
My dinosaur is all but dead at this point. It still turns on and is VERY slow and we just really need to get a new computer.
I am pretty dumb in regards to them and just looking for suggestions for something pretty reasonable. We need it for Dave?s business but it really will be used minimal. Suggestions?
Also, I have a lot of information on my computer, QuickBooks, pictures and stuff like that. Since my computer actually still works and is not dead, I am able to still transfer this info to a new computer?
Thanks for the help and yes I am clueless with this stuff so ANY info would be great J
Thanks
Re: Laptop recs and Computer ?
the first part, I'm no help.
but the 2nd part, K or my brother can do that.
but then I'll have no purpose in life!
I would ask K about what kind of pc/laptop to get.. but we aren't speaking at the moment.
HAHAHA OK, well you can still do it !
Ahh ok,
well if you end up speaking to him anytime soon. Let me know what he says. Cheap and decent is all I need !!
Aw, I have a dinosaur desktop from 1999 that still works.
Do you have an external hard drive? I back up all of my important files (photos, music, My Docs, etc) so that 1) I can transfer them to another computer and 2) I have a backup copy. You won't need a HD, but it's a useful thing to have.
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad ... I forget the model. It is not pretty but it is a trooper. Got it from Newegg.com. Before that, I had a Sony Vaio. It did the job, but I am not sure I want another Vaio. When I shop for laptops, I look for size (something I can travel with), features, and price.

Ditto! Love my Dell laptop!!
I actually use my work computer all the time. I don't even own one. It is an IBM thinkpad. It isn't pretty but it works for me.
My mom just got a Dell laptop and I love it. I'm actually jealous.
As far as anything you may want to transfer over, you should get yourself an external hard drive. It will have a USB cord (like your digital camera) that you plug into your computer and then go to windows explorer and just copy everything over to it.
