What Do You Recommend to Do in the Area?

I have two military nesties that I'm friendly with moving to the area.  I think living here for so long I take for granted what there is to do around here.  Besides the obvious (going to Philly to see the museums and historic sights), what do you recommend to do in the area?

  • Collingswood and Haddonfield can be fun to walk around and check out the stores. Also some good eats there. If they've got little ones, Red Bank Battlefield is fun to walk and play at with the kiddos. I guess my ideas sort of depend on nice weather though, which we're not having much of right now. :)

  • If they have kids there is the Children's Discovery Museum in Cherry Hill, the Aquarium in Camden and once it's nice there's the shore, Philly & Cape May (free!) zoos. There's also Storybook land and Sesame Place.

NYC is an hour and a half train ride away.

I wish I had more time off so I could enjoy more of our local attractions!

No lie, I've never seen the Liberty Bell and I've lived in Philadelphia and the area my entire life. Embarrassed

  • I love to shop and eat and there is a lot of that around hereBig Smile

    Depends what they're into.

  • When are they moving here? When it gets warmer there's always the shore :) Or you could drive to Bucks county and check out Parx casino, or Delaware Ave has Sugar House if you're into the casino/night life scene.

I have one that moved to the area about two months ago.  We went to Longwood Gardens for Christmas but it's been too cold to do the Old City tours.

The other moves into the area within the next month or so.

I haven't even checked out Parx yet...that maybe a great couples night.
