2 questions:
1) Have you received your sample ballot yet? I know I am registered, but it has not come yet.
2) Slots-I am fervently against them-especially due to their exploitation of those who can least afford to gamble, but am interested in others' views on them for I heard they were favored to pass 60+% to 30% in the last poll. Making the amendment to allow them is what bothers me the most and the explanations I have heard from Peter Franchot (whom is probably one of my favorite Dems ever!) have hit a nerve with me.
Re: Maryland Voters
I got it yesterday.
I am still undecided on the slots issue.
Thanks! I really hope people come to their senses on them---I just fear that since the gov is now a Dem, they will pass (I am trying to have more faith, but since people were supposedly for them before under our Repub governor, and the only reason they did not come to pass was because our Dem led legislature would not allow them to go to ballot). I just hope Peter Franchot will push his thoughts on it--he is our slighlty conservative leaning, moderate Dem comptroller and even he knows it will do nothing to help our budget/deficit.
I haven't gotten anything yet, but I'm probably registered at my old address down the street, so maybe it's taking a little longer to get forwarded.
I'm leaning towards Yes on slots, but I really don't have a ton of info on the pros and cons so I'm open to hearing both sides.
There's also a question about early voting right? It sounds like most people on here are for it. I'm kind of on the fence, but again, I can be swayed.
1) I haven't received my sample ballot yet.
2) I'm also anti-slots, and I'm a dem. There is hope! I've read the same polls as you, though. It doesn't look good right now.
I got my sample ballot 2 days ago.
I'm torn on slots. I don't really have a serious objection to them, but I do have a problem with getting them approved by way of a ballot question. And their commercials have gotten REALLY annoying. But it is not good for me professionally for slots to get turned down.
My Goodness...another food blog. Featuring: Macarons from a old post with a photo taken by my mom for a break from my crappy food photos!
No sample ballot, yet.
I've always been extremely anti-slots. I saw a very effective pro-slots ad that said, "We should keep the revenue here, instead of sending it to WV and PA to fund their schools." I can see why many would be swayed by that.
