House hunting WTF (with update!)
So, we found another house we loved. It's in the same complex as the first one that we bid on. We've looked all over the city and decided that that's where we want to be. It was priced slightly higher than the first one, but a lot bigger and 3 bedrooms, not 2. (The first one was originally a 3 bedroom but had a wall knocked out between 2 of them.)
We submitted it last night and made 6:00 the deadline. Basically, we liked this place so much that we wanted to try and brute force our way to making them respond quickly.
It's now 6:38. No news at all. Our agent has called the selling agent several times and can't reach her. We figured that even if another offer came in, they ought to call us and give us a chance to compete with it, or tell us SOMETHING. The offer is expired. WTF.

The agent finally got back to us... basically they were just slow. I think they were on Caribbean time. They made a counter offer and we are going to accept it.
