Buying baby furniture

We've looked at BRU and Rooms To Grow, as well as Target and Walmart. Other than Ikea, are there other brick and mortar stores around that sell cribs? We might buy a dresser at a regular furniture store and just get a crib somewhere else, but if there are other stores that sell true nursery sets I'd check them out first.

Thanks!

Re: Buying baby furniture

  • There is - I think it's called Baby Furniture Warehouse - it was recommended in Baby Bargains.  We headed up there - it was organized way better than Rooms to Grow - although we ultimately bought at rooms to grow as they had a better promoation at the time.

It's up in Mass - I can't remember exactly where though.  You can order from there and sometimes they have the floor samples on sale if you are looking for a deal.

  • Jordan's Furniture sells baby furniture.  They are also in MA.  Also, Baby Depot at Burlington Coat Factory sells nursery sets as well, and Walmart too.  We bought our 1st crib from Target and went to Cardis and got a children's bureau.  For my 2nd child, we bought a set at Babies R Us.
  • I got Ella's Muniere set at Baby Furniture Warehouse in Braintree, MA.

I actually want to sell it and get her a loft bed.

Cardis wasn't selling baby furniture last year when we were looking.  I wish they were.  :-(

  • we bought ours at babyage.com

  • We went to Baby Boudoir (ha ha, seriously) in New Bedford.  They have a store and an outlet, we went to the outlet and got a good deal on a crib. Tons of furniture, we just didn't need it as we have an old set to use.  Good luck!

We tried Cardi's yesterday, and they aren't selling cribs anymore.

Thanks for all the suggestions! We'll check them out this weekend.

  • We had a crib from my brother, so we didn't need that.  Got a bedroom set at Modern furniture in Middletown that matched.
  • Our first child's set comes from JC Penney (Some stores have displays you can see, check first), and our second child's set comes from Ikea. I love both!

  • This was baby furniture weekend for us! ?What a process! ?We checked out Baby Boudoir in NB (recommended by friends), but my husband wasn't impressed with the construction of a lot of their stuff. ?It seems like the convertible cribs make sturdy cribs... but we were not sure how they would hold up as actual beds. ?So we decided on just a regular crib at BRU (http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=graco+sarah+crib&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=2762860151063544181&ei=s_k0TffNIcWclgejtI3WCg&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=2&ved=0CCoQ8wIwAQ#ps-sellers). ?I was initially getting caught up in getting a "nice" or middle-of-the-road priced crib... but then we were like... why are we thinking of spending so much? ?This BRU crib will be just fine... plus, our nursery is tiny (we live in an old house), so we need to conserve room. ?

?Anyway, to answer your question, we looked at the stores everyone already mentioned. ?Good luck!
