Re: Whaaaaat??
Can Nicole not carry a baby?
Also: gestational carrier? What a cold term for someone who's growing and birthing your child.
She JUST had one. Seriously. Sunday Rose is only like 2 1/2 years old. She gained like 10 lbs with her. She's 43 though, maybe she just didn't want to do it again.
Then again, I think it was hard for her to get pregnant. Both of her kids with Tom Cruise are adopted.
I am just surprised/impressed that they kept it quiet for so long! Like Owen Wilson, he just announced/admitted last week that his gf was pregnant, and this week, she had the baby.
ETA: I am not naturally knowledgeable about Nicole Kidman. Wikipedia provided much of that information.
The Sand in My Snow Boots
I read a news story just recently where a couple used two different surrogates for their babies that ended up being born a few days apart. The mother actually made it a point to note that the "birth mothers" were called the gestational carriers and not birth mothers. I'm with you, I think it sounds cold, but it seems to be the politically correct term.
Amelia is going to be a big sister!
Can't believe that!!

About the "gestational carriers" thing: it doesn't bug me. I've even thought about being a surrogate, and that still doesn't bug me. I totally get the need for the mother to be the only mother, and if you call the carrier the birth mother, I feel like it sort of cheapens the role of the mother who will care for the child. Did that make sense? I get that it sounds cold, but I think it's sort of necessary.
I agree with Meghann on this one.
As it does sound a little cold, I believe I'm with Meghann on this one as well.
Just a side note.. the title of this post made me think of Despicable Me lol
Haha! My stalker alerts were going off before I read that part.
interesting...
did anyone watch rules of engagement last night? audrey can't carry a baby so they are going to surrogate route.
