does anyone want to come to Central PA and babysit Levi???

Re: So....
I had Levi to the pedi again today after high fevers yesterday and today. Sitter called and said he was very clingy and whiny and that he had a temp. I picked him up and she said she almost called me to get him because she didn't have time to hold him all day.
So, at the peds I go to change him to a dry diaper and surprise!...he's dirty, and the same nurse noticed. she said "you have a bad babysitter".
Then, pedi comes in he said Levi has another ear infection and gives us a different antibiotic...Azythromycin (?)....sitter calls later to see how he is and said she'll only take him tomorrow if he's not whiny like today. I tell DH this. He asked what that meant and I said one of us aren't going to work tomorrow....he said it's time to get serious about a new sitter.
So I think I absolutely agree with your pedi. (What part of PA are you in btw?)
I think that it's better for Levi and you'll be much happier with a new sitter. Look into PA's office of childcare services in your county. That'll give you people that are licensed and reccomended by other parents.
If you were closer, i'd love to watch him. I'm so sorry you are going through this.
Emily, I'm sorry but I 100% agree. She needs to go. I mean there are so many issues and not keeping him clean/dry is just unacceptable.

I agree. I am sorry it put you and DH in this situation but he is better off w/o her.
I'm sorry that you're dealing with such a bad baby sitter, but I agree you've got to find a new one, one that will look out for him, care for him, keep him clean / dry, and feed him what you suggest. It's the healthiest and safest option.
Good luck and keep us updated!
Yep, ditto this. I know you know it, too and hope you can get past feeling bad because of the personal relationship the sitter has with your sister. Definitely take the pp's advice and contact your county office for names of providers. I'm sure there are more out there than you realize and hopefully you can find a good one soon.

I am home with Levi today since he still has/had his fevers. The sitter said she didn't want him today if he was going to be whiny/clingy like he was yesterday. She almost called me at work around 10am to get him because he fussed every time she put him down.
Anyway...I am using this time home with him to try to find someone else. Luckily, it will only be for about 1 1/2 more months. Things are not improving with my job and it looks like the clinic may be closing around mid-March. DH commented that we would be able to get by on his income and my unemployment, so there is no rush for me to look for another job.
I'm hoping that I can get someone...even if it is split between a few different relatives/friends during the week.
