Wood laminate floors

Any ideas on what is safe to clean wood laminate floors with? Recently laid new floors and am a little hesitant on what cleaners are good. Any advice?

Re: Wood laminate floors

  • We just bought a steam mop that works great on our wood laminate. It just uses water and maybe some vinegar.
  • We use Swiffer sweeper or mop.

My old house had laminate and the steam mop will eventually eat/wear the finish off of the floors, if you just spent all that money to put them in I would advise against this.  FYI 50/50 mix of water vinegar works great and disinfects too.  You can use a steam mop like twice a year for a super deep clean, but not on a regular basis.

BAD idea.  I just use the Pledge floor cleaner, squirt just a bit on the floor and use a microfiber mop to get it up immediately.  Don't use a steam mop or regular mop.  The water will warp the floor and ruin it.

  • I have the Rubbermaid Reveal and use water/Lysol mix.
