Who has one? What kind and do you like it?
My H and I have had basic phones from Verizon for the past 3 yrs and it's time for new ones. I think we've decided to go with smartphones this time. H is leaning toward the Droid X and I liked the Incredible by HTC. But! Verizon is getting iphones next mth, so I really don't know what to do. Go ahead and get the Droids or wait on iphones? Has anyone had both?
Re: Smartphone help.....
.*. We come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by finding an imperfect person perfectly .*.
We both had the i-phone when we were with AT&T. J adored his, I took a hammer to mine. Yup. Detested the thing so much I didn't even bother to try and resell it, I smashed the cr@p out of it. It never responded to my touch. My finger tips are always cold, and I have nails. Apparently, these 2 things make using an i-phone difficult. I couldn't type worth a damn on it. To be fair, we had the first generation phones. They may have improved. I have an i-pod touch, that I can use, but I still can't type on the thing. Maybe I'm just a twit.
We're with sprint now. I have the Palm Pixi and I ADORE it. This is my 3rd Palm phone, and I've loved every single one of them. They're the "original" smart phone, and I think they do it best. J has the HTC evo, and he's thrilled with it. He likes it better than his beloved i-phone. (he had the hero too, but was up in the air about it)
We've both had Blackberries, and neither of us cared much for them. The track ball bothered me (it was always getting dusty and sticking) but I think they did away with that now.
I have the Blackberry Curve and I love it because it's purple and cute...seriously.
I had a plain old Verizon phone and upgraded to this a few months back b/c with the Droids and Iphones Blackberry went so cheap. Got this one for like $25. I love that it has acutal buttons that I can type on since I am a touch screen failure as well (and I have tiny fingers and no nails so I have no idea why).
Downside to me is that the screen is so much smaller than Droid or Iphone so when I'm on the internet it's harder to navigate, but I'm hardly ever on it.
Everyone I know that has the Iphone loves theirs, but I hear with the Verizon version it will be different since their "network" or whatever is different. I'm not technically savvy enough to know what the differences will be so I'm going to wait until the first wave of Iphone Verizon users use theirs and then see what the reviews are.
Thanks for all of your answers. I might have to go over to the AT&T store to play w/ an iPhone and see how I like it.
Nola..... We narrowed our favorites down to 3 at the store and only one had a slide out keypad. I think a full touch screen will be hard for me to get used to. My fingernails aren't really long, but they were still in the way of me touching the screen correctly.
I have the BB Curve 8330 and hate it. The internet is slow, it'll shut itself down when trying to reply on the FB app, it freezes and in order to restart it I have to take the battery out, sometimes it won't ring when I get a phonecall, and a LOT of the time the data signal has to be turned off/on because it'll stop working and I won't get calls, texts, emails for hours until I turn it on/off.
I do love BBM though.
H has the Droid and loves it but I find the touch screen annoying on it and for some reason the keyboard isn't easy for me to text on. I'm eligible for an upgrade and have been looking into phones and I read the Droid doesn't have the best battery length.
I'm waiting to see what people think about the iphone and if there are any kinks that need to work out. I love my iTouch and although I don't usually care for touch screen phones, if it's anything like that, then I can tolerate it.
I've heard good things about HTC phones, so I would consider that one if I were you

I posted on your FB page that I have the samsung fascinate. I was all set on the Droid X until I saw the fascinate next to it. Its a much sexier phone. The Droid X is HUGE. I liked the size of the fascinate. Also the display on the fascinate is AMAZING! Its soo bright. Plus I love the live background. My mom has the ATT iphone and she has been playing with my phone and she says she likes it more then the iphone.
I will say that I have been on my phone ALL day (im bored as hell being out of work). I need to plug my phone in by 6pm everynight or it will die.
Good luck!
I got the Droid X on Saturday and so far love it. My old phone was a touch screen, but for me this one works so much better. When I was home for the holidays I played with my dad's Droid X and hated it . But the guy at the store thought I was cute (he told me so), so he showed me how to use everything and put some apps on there. I don't think I would have done so well with it if he hadn't done that.
The battery does drain quickly though. And it is a MAN moster phone. The sales guy told me to get the Samsung Fascinate because it overall its a bit smaller. But the screen is pretty big and amazingly clear.

My FB page? I don't think I have any May 08 girls on my FB page.
I need to add new people though! I really liked the Fascinate, I just wasn't sure about spending that much on a new phone. I loved how bright it was. I really wish it was one of the B1G1 phones!
I've never heard of Amazon Wireless! I'm off to check!
WHAT?!?!?! Ugh! Wish I would have known this before I shelled out $150 on my samsung fascinate!
Ooops! I got you and Jessica confused. She just posted today on FB asking about droid phones right around the time you posted this!!
Oh and I think Im going to be sick. Amazon has the Fascinate for $39.99
