Is it ridiculous that I find this tragic?

Our coffeepot doesn't work anymore!!! Sunday morning it made coffee fine. Now, it doesn't draw the water up anymore. I clean it regularly, so the water lines shouldn't be clogged. I think maybe the pump just stopped working.

I was desperate for coffee Sunday afternoon, so I heated water in the kettle and poured it over the grounds manually. Yesterday, Rodgers dug our old 4-cup coffeepot out of the storage cabinet, and we've been making do.

I'm going to see if I can get a replacement - it's less than a year old. But honestly, I was near tears when I realized it wasn't going to make me coffee Sunday afternoon.

  • I feel you.  When we started having problems with our last one, we made it a priority to scrounge up the money for a new one. Coffee is important.

  • We use a coffee press for our coffee everyday - it's more like the old fashioned manual way, but it makes awesome coffee! Anyhow, you might want to grab one for a backup. You can pick one up at Marshalls for like $10 and they never break!

That's a good idea. I used to have a roommate with a coffee press, and it did make really good coffee.

  • I remember one weekend I went home, and my dad's coffeepot wasn't working. I almost fell out on the floor. Luckily, he replaced it the next weekend. :P

That's seriously tragic. But I've heard awesome things about a coffee press, too! :)

  • No, that absolutely is tragic!

Invest in a coffee press...coffee comes out amazing.

  • No argument here. Lack of coffee IS tragic. Did you get it at Bed, Bath and Beyond, by any chance? They'll exchange it for you.
  • Agreed one must have coffee.  We have a Tassimo.  It's pretty neat.  Makes latte's and hot chocolate as well as coffee, flavored coffee, iced coffee all by the cup.

I got it at Walmart. I don't have the receipt, and I'm not sure if I even have the box it came in. We don't save things. I've contacted the company to see if we can get an exchange, since it does have a 1 year warranty - but without the receipt, I don't know. I have to wait "2-3 business days" before they'll get back to me.
