Happy (for some!) Monday!!! - Football Edition

::sigh::

Well, Ladies, my Ravens' run at the Super Bowl came to and end this weekend :-(

At least I got part of what I asked for: I wanted an "epic" game, win or lose. Well, that's what I got. An "epic" 3rd quarter disaster in which we gave up the ball on our first 3 possesions and lost the lead. While we did fight back to tie it up in the fourth quarter, in the end, the Steelers were the better team on that day. Unfortunately, the rivalry runs too deep for me to actually root for them (yeah, thought I could, but...NOT)....but they deserved that win. I have to give them that much...

As for the rest...

Jets/Pats: I did get my Jets win, although our loss to the Steelers did have me wishing the Pats could pull it out, so that the Steelers wouldn't have a home Championship game. But that's fine...here's hoping the Jets can kick their butts in their own house!

Hawks/Bears: Excellent!

Packers/Falcons: I was quite impressed with the Packers. Impressed indeed. While I didn't have very strong feelings about this game, I certainly could see the Pack going all the way...we'll see!!!

With the pressure off, now I can turn into Jane football fan, and just cheer some good football! For me, the rest of the Playoffs are quite simple: I'm rooting for whoever is playing the Steelers...lol....

How did your teams do, girls???

Re: Happy (for some!) Monday!!! - Football Edition

  • Well, I'm sorry about your Ravens! I was really pulling for them! I'm not much of a Steelers fan, either. Love their coach, don't love their quarterback. (There coach is identical to Omar Epps, so I think my "liking" of him comes from that..wink wink).

Pack!!! I'm so excited they won!!  They played awesome! Hope they didn't use all of their luck and talent up in one game, though!

Bears....boooo...they played great, I am just not cool with the Bears. I want the Packers to beat them SO bad in the NFC Championship, it borders on unhealthy.

Jets! Sorry Kik and the rest of my Pats girls, but I think I have made my feelings towards the Patriots clear. Now, I am just hoping that the Jets can pull off another win and knock out the Steelers.

  • Sorry about your Ravens Stacie, but I am glad the Steelers won.  I think all my teams won this weekend. Smile

Like Danie, I am pumped that the Pack won.  They had an awesome game.  Hopefully they have 2 more games left in them.  They really really need to beat the Bears next week.  This game is gonna get personal in our house.  H and I are Pack fans and one of my BM is a die hard Bears fan.  She called me yesterday when the game was over to try to start trash talking.  Can't wait for next weekend.

I am happy the Pats are no longer in the playoffs.  Sorry girls, but I am not a fan of the Pats at all.

Bears vs Hawks: it was a good game.  I kinda wanted the Hawks to win so the Pack wouldn't have to play the Bears, but I'm ok with the outcome.

Next weekend is going to be AWESOME!

  • So sorry Stacy!  I really didn't want to see the Steelers win either, and I hope the Jets can take them out.  Huzzah for the Packers, hope they don't blow it in Chicago, but it should be a good game!  It would be AWESOME if the superbowl was Green Bay vs. Jets (take that Favre!!!)

Nice Margaret!  That would be awesome!

Ravens/Steelers:  I really didn't watch the game/wasn't invested.  But sort of bummed the Ravens lost.  The Steelers have been in the playoffs enough already!

Pack/Falcons:  AWESOMENESS!  I couldn't believe how well the Pack played. Let's hope they keep it up!

Bears/Hawks:  Was expected but a little bummed out that Da Bears won.  The next game is going to be INTENSE!!

Jets/Pats:  What a game!  So happy the Jets won (sorry Pats fans).   Hoping the Jets can pull out another game against the Steelers!

  • DA BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  that's all.
  • Well yeah, not a happy weekend for me, but I can take it.  Though I have to say, that for all you who don't like (which is I know is putting it mildly) the Patriots, I do appreciate that you're not kicking us fans while we're down.  :)  You win some, you lose some.  Just didn't think we would lose this one.  *sigh*  The Pats were outplayed this time (and yes, I fully appreciate the irony of that statement, as Rex Ryan said that about the last Jets/Pats game).  And yeah, no fun living in New Jersey for me this coming week. It's just embarrassing that we had to lose (again) in a hyped up match against a NY/NJ team, especially in a game we were favored to win.

Eh, in a real way I am glad the season is over, for me personally anyway.  My blood pressure goes up when I watch football, lol... and that's not good.

If I watch any more football, it'll be in the hopes that the Jets go no further than Pittsburgh, and that the Bears stay home in Chicago.  In Dallas, I hope it's Packers vs. Steelers, but I might want the Steelers to win.  Not sure.  I guess it's cos the Steelers are more familiar to me... and I like Troy Polamalu's hair.  :)

    Anniversary

  • Of course, I had to do the happy dance because my 2nd home team (the Steelers) won, and because the Pats lost (sorry girls!). I could've gone either way with the Bears/Seahawks game and I was disappointed in the Packers/Falcons' blowout.

I knew the Bears would win, but I was shocked and appalled at the way they were blowing Seattle out until the end of the game (I missed it because I had my TS party that afternoon but my dad provided me with the highlights).  Part of me would've liked to see the team who knocked my Saints out pull off a victory, plus I tend to root for underdogs a lot; but I really didn't have a preference.  But with a wing and a prayer, I'm hoping for the Bears to be victorious over the Packers (sorry girls - again!).

  • ugh - yes not happy... we played horribly... i was in morning yesterday (wore my pats undies from VS all day hahaha) but today i'm coming to terms with it.... makes me sad but looking forward to the packers/bears game on sunday as we have some good friends who are rivals...

as far as the remainder of the games... i hope the packers go all the way and i hope the jets bus gets stuck in a snow bank.

ps - did anyone see the wes welker interview where he straight faced mentioned "feet" like a dozen times... hehe - at least that makes me smile!

  • Sorry, but I just have to say that I am really happy the Steelers won.  DH is from the Pittsburgh area, a lot of his family still lives there, and his entire family are big Steelers fans, so I have been brought into the club.  I never really watched NFL football until this year.   Plus, it was a good game to watch, stressful, but a good game for sure.
