Vacation Recommendations

Hello Ladies pick me a vacation place Smile It will be me, DH, and DD almost 14 months so semi family friendly. We will also be vacationing with my BFF and her husband and possibly another couple or so. We were at first thinking florida but we are wanting to go in May so we're thinking it won't be warm enough to enjoy it. Our next thought was something "outdoorsey" like Gatlinburg but we were just there last May.

It can be close or far. We are open to ideas right now as we  search the internet for anything exciting. Thanks for your fun ideas.

Re: Vacation Recommendations

  • For outdoorsy and close you could do Hocking Hills or Red River Gorge. You could also search out some state and national parks within whatever distance you want. South Dakota, specifically the Black Hills (Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, the Needles, and Badlands) is beautiful and has a lot to do.  It is at least a day's drive, though. I think if you went to Southern Florida, May would for sure be warm enough.

  • I would go with Siesta Key in Florida. There is so much to do in the area and I am sure there are some places that you could get a great group rate since it is right before the busy season. We went last time in Oct and it was amazing because there were barely any crowds and the weather was just perfect!Cool
  • We went to Asheville, NC when DD was about that age.  It was the middle of winter so we didn't do anything outside, but it seemed like a pretty outdoorsy type of place.  We rented a cottage.  I want to say it was through Asheville Cottages or something like that, but I know there are a few places that rent them.  The Biltmore Estate was pretty cool.
