Okay, I'm posting this all over TN (Entertaining Ideas, What's Cooking, Twilight Book Club), but I figure I'd check with my gals here too!
Here's my OP that's floating around everywhere:
I'm having a Twilight-themed graduation party. I just finished my Master's in Literature and my thesis was on the Twilight saga (media impact, fairy tale imagery, etc.). So, I figured it would be an appropriate theme for my graduation party since it's what I've been working on for the past 2.5 years!
We've got decor down -- I'm using some of the Hostess with the Mostess printouts as well as some I've made myself. We're doing lots of red apples, floating candles, etc.
We've got the favors down -- we're making a red/white/black candy station in various jars. We're also doing "puppy chow" (Chex mix) and dog bone shaped sugar cookies for Team Jacob.
We've got the drinks down -- Vampire wine (it's a brand), red Crush or Jones or Izze sodas with personalized labels, and Renesmee's Non-Alcoholic punch (aka, Shirley Temples).
What we're struggling on is food. Everyone's go-to is "mushroom ravioli" since that's what Bella eats on her first date with Edward, but we're not doing a sit-down meal. In fact, it's more casual -- not really cocktail party, because the age range of guests is 3 months to 75 years, but more heavy apps. We'd like to be able to somehow tie it to the books or movies, even if it's just stretching the names of things (for example -- bagel bite pizzas that are "Forks Caffeteria Lunch" or mini corn dogs or pigs in a blanket that we can call "The Wolf Pack").
Any ideas? Even just app. ideas (need lots of vegetarian ones!!!) that I can try to stretch/name later would be helpful.
Re: Twilight Types, I need your help
This is tough because there isn't much reference to food in Twilight.
Spaghetti bites? If I recall correctly, Charlie cooks (and proceeds to burn) some spaghetti in the book, haha. I can't say I've had these, but they look kinda cute:

I also like the idea of just making the food follow a color theme versus needing to make a more literal connection to the book. Maybe you could keep everything red /black/white... It could make for a pretty table display.
- Gardenburger sliders (in the movie when Stephenie Meyer makes her cameo - she ordered a GB)
- Fried raviolis w/ a dip (you get to tie in the mushroom ravioli, but it's still finger food)
Love the mini pizzas, mini corndogs and/or pigs-in-a-blanket (Charlie was a cop, pigs in a blanket seems appropriate). Baseball related food would be good too right since Phil played for a minor league team (maybe soft pretzels w/ dip?). If I think of anything else I'll update.
Very cool ideas!!! Congrats on your graduation!
Tough one... I think I would go with the red, black, white idea to kind of keep the food with a theme. I like the fried ravioli idea and the mini pigs in a blanket would be cute. For dessert, you could do red velvet cupcakes/cake balls with bite marks in the icing. You could do a red/black candy buffet. You could use apples since they are on the front of the book. Maybe do some type of appetizer served on a fork instead of the popular spoon serving idea. I'm not really very creative today...
