It's SOOO hard!

I'm sitting here trying to narrow down my 1,030 proofs to 70 for my album - what a daunting task! I've got it down to about 130, but that's still almost double that I need.

Have you picked your album yet?  How'd you narrow it down?

Re: It's SOOO hard!

  • I feel your pain..well kinda. Since my photographer is a douche I still don't have my disc BUT I did make an album tonight of pictures of L and I went from about 500 pictures to 184.

I started putting them in groups and then eliminating that way.. Not sure if that makes sense or helps but good luck!

BTW I love your siggy pic!

  • Thanks, I love that pic too and wish it were a pro pic so it could go in my album! :)

I did sort everything into categories and tried to pick the best of each.  I have some great detail shots, but feel like maybe I shouldn't use them becuase that's less people pictures...I just don't know!  hahaha

What I would do (if I were getting a professional album): skip the detail shots, and like Montana said, separate them into groups (pre-wedding, ceremony, family shots, wedding party shots, cake cutting, etc).  Then do a mixbook/picaboo/etc book with as many pictures as you want.

  • I had to get 700 down to 30...I started by seperating them into pre-ceremony, ceremony, post ceremony and then reception.  I then took each pile and chose my favorites.  From there I just kept going until I got the 30.  Took a long time.  It also helped that I got 4x6s of all my photos as part of the package so I got pretty albums at Kohls and put them in those so I still have all mine.

  • It's definitely not easy. We had approx 1100 proofs to go through and max could use 180 for our album but 125-130 was suggested. After our initial go through we were at I want to say 190ish and I weeded some out but only went down to like 160.
  • That's what she said!

    Hee - sorry, I couldn't help myself.

On to your question... we still haven't narrowed ours down and I don't see it happening anytime soon.  We got the ones for Keith's mom done and my mom picked her own.  But the one for us is more difficult.
