Re: **alicia**

  • TONO SUSHI!!! Seriously, you exit the Woodley Park / Zoo metro, and it is pretty much directly across the street when you exit onto Connecticut Ave.

Brian and I happened upon it when we were visiting DC before I decided 100% on which school I'd be going to. After that, whenever he came down to visit (prior to us getting married) we'd stop in there. Then, when we lived in VA for 9 months while I finished my last year of school, we went at least once a month. They have a couple of other restaurants Yosaku in Tenley Circle (we didn't like it quite as much). And, I see there's also Simply Ayzen on Wisconsin Ave. (but I haven't been there).

Mmm... I miss Tono. We have a couple of decent places not too far from us here, but they're no Tono.

  • Been there too! Only once though. I think we mostly had apps, but it was all good! Reminded me of growing up and going to the Fashion Shows at the Syrian Orthodox church that my aunt attended. Yum. I tell you, for the food options down there, I truly am jealous of you!

Been to an Ethiopian place (Meskerem on 18th Street) with friends once, too. If you've never had Ethiopian, I highly recommend trying it! DELISH! And, get the honey wine. SOOOO GOOD!
