As I mentioned in the Good Morning thread, the home inspection went really well. The inspector himself was great, and very thorough - he took about 2.5 hours to go through everything. He pointed everything out, gave us tips on how to maintain the place, and left us with a big binder full of info. There were only 3 very minor issues, which we'll ask them to fix, but really they are so small that even if it doesn't get done, we can do it ourselves. Overall, it looks like the house is very well built.
So anywhere here are some pics. Shield your eyes from the colours... we'll be painting ![]()
Starting with our favourite, the kitchen (this is the 2nd floor):
It's funny, the owner had told us, "yeah it's a little small, not a whole lot of cabinet space" but we were like ZOMG so many cabinets (compared to ours). On the right edge is a door to a balcony with a gas hookup for a barbeque.
Living/dining room (view from the kitchen) - that's my brother and his GF on the couch, V on the side
Living room view from the couch
We'll probably use the kitchen to eat in, use this as a living room only, and put a piano where that chair is.
3rd floor, looking into the master bedroom
Master bedroom - sorry for the crappy view, it's hard to get everything in. It will not be staying pepto bismol pink. The bed will probably go where the dresser is and vice versa; there is a cable outlet on the wall behind where I'm standing, and a window on the right side.
One bedroom. This will be the nursery. The other is similarly oddly shaped and the same colour - they fit together like two L-shaped Tetris pieces.
The bathrooms were nothing special, and there's also one more large bonus room on the first floor which will probably become an office or playroom, not sure yet. It could also be a dining room; I'd love to have one but realistically we wouldn't use it that much, so even though we'd have to transport food down a flight of stairs for dinner parties, it might be OK for us.
This is the "front" of the house from the listing. It faces the road; the other side faces into the complex and the garage is on that side.
Squee! So excited!!

Re: The house is ours! Lots of PIPs
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?

I don't know about colours yet but I think it'll be pretty neutral. Maybe a sunny kitchen. We have barely any furniture to fill the house with, so we're basically starting from scratch.
We close on March 15!

Oh, Ringy - I love it! Congratulations.
Are you sure you don't want to keep that lovely pink paint?
Now jumping domestically.
Well that was a crazy couple of years.
