to be a success. I really, really do.
In July during my review, he wanted me to grow into a more senior product manager role. With this role would come some product marketing responsibilities. Which I am ALL for. So the other day I ping him and basically asked how am I doing in regards to this, what do I need to improve on, etc..and we briefly discussed but will talk more later this week/next week in detail. Ideally, I would like to get this squared away prior to maternity leave (I mean, a promotion/raise during leave would be fanfreakingtastic), but know this may not happen. I guess I also want to make sure he and my company know, I am coming back to work (after being sick for and home from work a few days each week these past few weeks I want to poke my eyes out). But he did say he wants to make sure my aspirations, and his aspirations for me, are met. Cool, right?
Anyways, we're rolling out this internal blog for our employees- a means to communicate Product happenings to the entire staff. When I was running the first content by him, he basically said it's mine to own...Sweet! And then we met feature freeze (when our engineers finish developing all product requirements and we hand over the product to QA to test) this week and bossman and I were talking, and he asked me to set up /coordinate & think of a theme for a baked goods pot luck Friday to celebrate. So, I did (theme is Reaching Milestones is Sweet). Which is another Product Marketing type of activity.
So I am kind of excited my role may grow into more things that excite me...I have been feeling kind of mediocre lately...so keep your fingers crossed this happens please!!
Re: I think my boss is setting me up (kind of long)
I'm really happy that this position is evolving into something you love. You seemed so unsure of your decision in the beginning but it looks like all things are working out.
