I am really working on some lifestyle changes. I am eating healthier and so far have lost 6 pounds. Not much, but it's a start
I am also trying to get more organized and started at a gym just yesterday. So by the time all my stuff is done in a day, I end up in bed around 11. I'm up at 5:30 every day. So I know I'm not getting my 8 hours of sleep. And I KNOW I'm not rested enough. But I'm trying to make more time to go to bed earlier by having DH and DD help out with more chores that they are MORE than capable of doing.
So what time do you go to bed and how many hours of sleep do you average a night?
Re: bedtime poll
I need a large amount of sleep in order to be able to function properly. I also do not have kids yet so my lifestyle enables this. I get anywhere from 8.5 to 10 hours of sleep on a weeknight and on the weekends I usually get at least 10. I have the feeling that I am in for a rude awakening once we have kids, lol...
We usually go to bed between midnight and 1am, and we're usually up around 7am. We average 6-7 hours/night. On weekends, closer 7-8 hours.
But I'm in grad school, and my husband's a night owl. I'm looking forward to getting more sleep once I'm done with grad school... until we have kids, and then we'll go back to our sleep-deprived ways, I guess.
On nights before I have to work, I get to bed around 9:00 and get up at 4:30 AM.
Nights I don't have to work the next day usually in bed by 11 and up by 9. YEP. 10 whole beautiful hours of sleep. I have found that I really need lots of sleep to be able to function to my full potential. On nights before work, I lay awake most of the night thinking. Can't seem to turn my brain off and I tend to run only 4 hours or so. Kinda sucks. Not sure what to do about it.
:::Our Adoption Journey:::
Evan James was born 1/24/13 and matched with us 2/20/13. The LOVE OF MY LIFE!!!
To be honest, I think part of my problem is that when Brent and I were seperated, I slept AMAZING. I hogged the whole bed, didn't have to worry about anyone snoring but me, and could have the room as cold as I wanted it. I sleep better in the cold buried under a bunch of blankets.
Now I have him snoring in my ear, trying to sleep in the middle of the bed, and it's a damn volcano in our bedroom. So even on the rare occasion I get to bed early, as soon as he comes into bed, I'm awake nearly all night.
Not complaining that we are back together, but it WAS easier to sleep alone! lol
I used to be good about getting to bed before 10 but now, not so much. I'm always up by 5:30 - most of the time it's 5:00-5:15. 6:00 is sleeping in on a weekday. Weekends, it depends on the rink schedule, but I'm usually up by 7 or 7:30.
This last week it hasn't been more than 6 hours a night, and it's catching up with me.
I go to bed around 10/10:30 and I get up at 7:15. Although, I wake up several times during the night to go to the bathroom, eat a tums etc. But right now, I am loving my 9 hours of sleep because I know that at any moment, I will be getting barely any sleep.
Thankfully, I can live on barely any sleep nowadays!
I'm usually up to nurse Amelia around 4:00. Then, I just stay up and start getting ready for work (I'd need to be up by 5:00 at the latest anyway). Shower, makeup, pump, get dressed, get the girls up and ready and in the car (with DH's help), drop them at daycare and get to work by 7:00.
I leave work around 4:30. I get home around 5:00/5:15, change, feed the dog, do my workout videos (about 30-40 minutes) while DH picks the girls up. Start dinner immediately after working out, we all eat, get in maybe an hour of play time together. Baths for the girls at 8:00 and nurse Amelia to sleep. By the time she's aleep, I get her bottles made for the next day, cleanup from dinner/kid tornado, I usually crawl into bed around 10:30/11:00.
I either get a solid stretch from then until the 4:00 feed (so, 5-5.5 hours), or some nights she wakes up in the middle of the night instead, so I'll get about 3 hours, nurse, then back to sleep for a a few more hours.
