Valentine's Day

Hey ladies!

Have any of you started to think about Vday?  What are you planning on getting/doing for DH?

I am stumped.  I am also trying to keep things on a budget too. DH and I are going to this expensive dinner at the beginning of next month and I am wondering if I should cancel that and use the money for vday.  Anyways...I am rambling and curious as to what you all are doing!  :)

Re: Valentine's Day

  • For the actual "day" we won't do anything cause I have volleyball that night. Sometimes our games are pretty early or pretty late, so maybe we could throw dinner in there at a local pub.

I usually get Jeff boxers and chocolates. It is just kind of expected now. Haha! Maybe that weekend I will make him a really good dinner with wine. We shall see...

  • We won't be doing anything major.  We have tickets to go see a local theaters production of Phantom of the Opera on that Thursday so we will probably make that our v-day celebration.

  • We never celebrate right on the day; we'll most likely have date night on Saturday.  Dinner and a movie - but an early one since Mike is running a 10k race that Sunday morning and will want to be home early the night before.  We're not supposed to have Amanda that weekend but he usually likes her to be at his races so if she does spend the night, chances are we'll either pick her up or have her mom drop her off around 9:00 or 10:00 that evening.

  • We were actually just talking about this last night.  DH has to work late that day, so we will probably go out to eat/have date night some other night.  We can't do it the week before because that's SILs 21st bday and Super Bowl.

We also talked about just doing 1 big joint gift, but didn't really decide anything.  H usually sends me flowers and we go out to dinner.  Last year I got him a bunch of his favorite candy and I think a gc to Cheesecake factory.

  • Yeah - prob nothing too major here... DH is on nights now so i'll be holding down the fort on my own that night... but we'll prob do a nice dinner somewhere the previous weekend.  we don't really do "big gifts" for this holiday... plus DH's bday is the week before!  lol so i usually roll into one!

  • Likely dinner and a movie for us as well...more than likely the Saturday before!

  • Since it's a Monday we'll likely do it the Saturday before, because I usually make him a nice dinner and the tart cherry pie he loves, right out of the oven at the end of dinner. Sunday he has a 5:50pm hockey game so that's not the best idea. Fortunately we don't have the kids so we will be alone! No gifts though, just sappy cards which I got mine the other day :-)

I asked him what he wanted to eat but he hasn't said, so I might make a lamb and scallops dinner (kinda like surf and turf) or if I find a really yummy looking steak. He'll eat anything I make and love it so I don't sweat it too bad.

  • I was talking with DH and I asked him what he had in mind (as to when to celebrate).  He said "I don't get to cook for you that often, I am going to cook for you!"  I am so excited!  :)  Now I have to figure something to do for him now!  :)
