F/U: My Dream Job

Hey Ladies,

After figuring I was out of the running for my dream job since I didn't hear back from them, I got a phone call today for a phone interview. It is next Tuesday at 2pm. I am so excited and nervous! I dislike phone interviews a lot because I can't see how the person is reacting to my answers. Any words of wisdom?

Re: F/U: My Dream Job

  • Yay for your interview!

I only ever had one phone interview, but here's some things I can think of -

Have a notepad in front of you. Also your resume and questions to ask the interviewer.

Dress up a bit so you feel more professional even though they can't see you.

Make sure you're in a secluded quiet space where there are no distractions or interruptions.

    Ditto everything mamie said.

Congratulations! Hope the interview goes well!

  • Congrats on the interview!  Good Luck - I'm not really a fan of phone interviews either but I agree with Mamie and also wanted to add sit still in a spot where you have a good cell phone signal, if you walk around your house, they'll be able to tell.

Thanks everyone! Hawki, I never would of thought of this and tend to walk around when I'm on my cell.

  • Congrats!!! This is sooo exciting!

I second everything Mamie said. I would also have a print-out of the job description on hand for reference.
