Tax Question
Have any of you used a CPA before for your taxes? We have used Turbo Tax and we have gone to H&R Block before, but for 2010 H wants to have someone do them for us. Since his current job doesn't reimburse him for all his work expenses we should be able to write some of it off.
Anyhow my neighbor gave us a rec and I called him today. Gave him an overview of our tax situation and he told me it would cost us approximately $275 for him to do them for us. Seems high, but I think we paid H&R Block around $225/$250 last time we used them. I wasn't happy with the service there, so for a few more dollars we could just directly use a CPA. I'm really not comfortable trying to them ourselves since we want to claim H's work expenses.
Was curious if you have used one and what you paid...does $275 sound like too much?

Is your FIL in the area? I live in NW Tampa. I would definitely take a rec to at least check it out. If it's cheaper, then H would be happy! His jaw dropped last night when I told him the quote was $275. Now that I see the other post that says they pay $150, I think I need to check around, but definitely want to use someone that someone can recommend.
